Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the present situation of fear of cancer recurrence in patients with breast cancer after surgery,to analyze the factors that affect patients' fear of recurrence of cancer,and to provide evidence for interventions.Methods:A total of 342 postoperative patients with breast cancer were selected by convenient in oncology department of the Yancheng City NO.1 People's Hospital,and participants were recruited from October 2017 to May 2018.A series of measures were completed among patients,including the Fear of Progression Questionnaire Short Form(FoP-Q-SF),the social support rate scale(SSRS),the Functiond Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast(FACT-B),and we also evaluated patients' demographic characteristics and clinical disease information,to analyze the relationship with the patient's fear of cancer recurrence.Results:1?Score of the fear of cancer recurrence for breast cancer patients The total score of fear of progression questionnarie short Form scale in 342 breast cancer patients was(38.79±5.78);234(68.4%)patients had a total score of ?34 on the fear of cancer recurrence,which was manifested as a mental disorder of fear of cancer recurrence.Item 10 "Worrying that medications could damage the body",Item 1 Being afraid of disease progression" and Item 2 "Being nervous prior to doctors' appointments or periodic examinations" are in the top three.2?Scores of social support for breast cancer patients The social support score of 342 breast cancer patients was(37.65±6.54),the objective support score was(13.35±3.86),the subjective support score was(17.17±2.32),and the support utilization score was(7.13±2.14)points.3?Score of quality of life in patients with breast cancer The total score of FACT-B in 342 breast cancer patients was(81.11±21.59),the score of physiological well-being was(17.83±5.48),the score of social/family well-being was(17.01±3.26),and the score of emotional well-being was(11.75±5.77),the functional well-being score was(11.67±5.81),and the additional attention score was(22.87±3.75).4?Univariate analysis for fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients Univariate analysis showed that factors affecting the fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients included patients' age,education,religious belief,medical expenses protection,family income,occupation,disease stages,treatment methods,and distant metastasis,cancer pain,social support and quality of life;factors affecting the score of physiological health dimension included patients' age,education,religious belief,family income,occupation,disease stages,duration of disease,treatment methods,distant metastasis,cancer pain,social support and quality of life;factors affecting the score of social/family dimension included patients' education,marital status,religious belief,medical expenses protection,family income,occupation,disease stages,treatment methods,distant metastasis,cancer pain,social support and quality of life.5?Multivariate analysis for fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that the factors affecting the fear of cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients included patients' religious belief,family income,disease stages,social support and quality of life.Factors influencing the score of physiological health dimension included religious belief,education,occupation,duration of disease,social support and quality of life.Factors affecting the score of social family dimension included marital status,family income,disease stages,social support and quality of life.Conclusion:1?In this study,the incidence of cancer recurrence fear in patients with breast cancer after operation was 68.4%.2?The fear of cancer recurrence in postoperative patients with breast cancer is influenced by religious belief,family income,disease stages,social support and quality of life.3?The results of this study suggest that we should pay attention to the fear of cancer recurrence in patients with breast cancer after operation in clinical nursing work.Effective interventions should be implemented clinically to reduce patients' fear of cancer recurrence and improve the quality of life.
