Objective: To analysis the effects of computer use on the ocular surface of nurse using a instrument Keratograph D.Methods: Twenty-three nurses work with computer(46 eyes,assigned as the computer-use group) and 17 nurses work without computer(34 eyes,assigned as the noncomputer group) of the First People's Hospital of Changde City,Hunan Province were selected.The following indicators were measured before work,at 60 minutes of work,at 120 minutes of work: the tear break up time(average),tear meniscus height,and Meibo-scan in order to analyze the impact of computer use on the ocular surface.The Wilcoxon test was used to compare the tear meniscus height and the the tear break up time(average) of each group.Comparison within the group using the Friedman test.Compared by ANOVA of repeated measurement data.Results: The reduction of the tear meniscus height of the computer-use group was significantly higher than that of the noncomputer group at 60 minutes,120 minutes,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The tear meniscus height before the work of the computer-use group was significantly greater than that at 60 minutes,120 minutes.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The reduction of the the tear break uptime(average) of the computer-use group was significantly higher than that of the noncomputer group at 120 minutes,The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The the tear break up time(average) before the work of the computer-use group was significantly greater than that at 60 minutes,120 minutes.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).ANOVA of repeated measurement data: The tear meniscus height and the tear break up time(average) decreases as the computer usage time increases with a faster reduction in the first 60 minutes.Conclusions: The tear meniscus height of nurse decreases as the computer usage time increases.The tear break up time(average) of nurse decreases as the computer usage time increases.
