ObjectiveBy studying the relationship between primary dyslipidemia and serum homocysteine(Hcy)levels and its relationship with TCM constitutions,evaluating the relationship between Hcy level and TCM constitutions in patients with dyslipidemia,and providing an objective evidence for clinical TCM syndrome differentiation of patients with dyslipidemia,and promoting the prevention and treatment of primary dyslipidemia.MethodThis was a prospective observational study.Data were collected of patients with primary dyslipidemia and healthy population who did medical examinations in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from January 2018 to December 2018.We extracted the medical examination data of eligible population included gender,age,blood lipids,serum Hcy,TCM constitution identification data,etc.The Hcy levels between dyslipidemia and healthy people was compared by independent sample t test.The relationship between blood lipid index and Hcy level was computed by linear regression.One-way analysis of variance was used to analyze the blood lipid index and Hcy level of different TCM constitution types in dyslipidemia patients,the test level a=0.05.Finally,logistic regression was conducted to analyze the relationship between different TCM constitution types and blood lipid index and serum Hcy level in the case group,the test level a=0.10.Resu t1.A total of 150 dyslipidemia patients and 50 healthy people were included.There was no significant statistical difference in age and gender between the two groups(P>0.05).2.Compared with the healthy control group,the dyslipidemia group had higher Hey level,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(12.99±4.85 ? mol/L vs 8.20±1.85 ? mol/L,P<0.05).Among the dyslipidemia group,the Hey level in 37 cases were over 15 ? mol/L,accounting for 25%of the total number.3.The serum Hcy level of male patients with dyslipidemia was higher than that of female patients,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),serum Hey level was negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05),and TC,TG,LDL-C.Values are not relevant.4.In the dyslipidemia group,the order of the main constitution types was listed as follows,Blood-stasis constitution,Phlegm-damp constitution(as many as Damp-heat constitution),Qi-deficiency constitution,Yang-deficiency constitution,and all accounted for 87%of total subjects.Among the people with high Chiemi,the main constitution type was Qi-deficiency constitution,accounting for 42.4%.5.By one-way analysis of variance,the differences on TG,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C and Hey levels between different TCM constitution types were statistically significant(P<0.05).TC levels were the highest in Blood-stasis constitution compared with other types and the the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The level of TG in Phlegm-damp constitution was the highest,which was statistically different from other types(P<0.05).The level of HDL-C was the lowest in Yang-deficiency constitution but the highest in Qi-deficiency constitution,and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the HDL-C between Yang-deficiency constitution and Damp-heat constitution,Phlegm-damp constitution and Blood-stasis constitution(P>0.05).The level of LDL-C was the highest in Damp-heat constitution,which was statistically different from other types of constitution(P<0.05).The serum Hcy level of Qi-deficiency constitution was higher than other TCM constitution types,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).6.Logistic regression analysis showed that there was a correlation between TCM constitution types and gender,blood lipid index and serum Hcy level in dyslipidemia group.There was a positive correlation between Qi-deficiency constitution and HDL-C and Hcy,OR values were 1.70 and 1.21.Damp-heat constitution was negatively correlated with TC,TG level,and the OR values were 0.35 and 0.05 respectively.Phlegm-damp constitution was positively correlated with TG,with OR value was 6.71,while negatively correlated with Hcy,and the OR value was 0.78.Blood-stasis constitution was positively correlated with TC,OR value was 17.59,while negatively correlated with TG,HDL-C level,and the OR values were 0.38and 0.17 respectively.Yang-deficiency constitution was negatively correlated with TG,HDL-C level,and the OR values were 0.22,0.14,and 0.04,respectively.Conc!usion1.The level of serum Hcy in patients with dyslipidemia is higher than that in healthy people.The detection of Hcy combined with blood lipids is helpful for the prevention,diagnosis and treatment of atherosclerotic diseases.2.Serum Hcy levels were associated with gender in people with dyslipidemia,and men were higher than women and negatively correlated with HDL-C levels.3.In dyslipidemia people,the main TCM constitution types were Blood-stasis constitution,Phlegm-damp constitution,Damp-heat constitution,Qi-deficiency constitution,Yang-deficiency constitution.Among them,those with HHcy were of Qi-deficiency constitution mostly.4.Different constitution affected the blood lipid index and Hcy,among which the TC value of Blood-stasis constitution was higher,and the TG value of Phlegm-damp constitution was higher,while the LDL-C value of Damp-heat constitution was higher,and the both level of Hcy and HDL-C were higher in Qi-deficiency constitution.While the level of HDL-C was lower in Yang-deficiency constitution.5.In dyslipidemia people,there was a positive correlation between Qi-deficiency constitution and HDL-C and Hcy levels.Damp-heat constitution was negatively correlated with TC and TG.Phlegm-damp constitution was positively correlated with TG,and negatively correlated with Hcy level.Blood-stasis constitution and TC were positive correlation,and negatively correlated with TG and HDL-C level,Yang-deficiency constitution was related to TC,TG and HDL-C.
