ObjectiveTo observe and evaluate the therapeutic effect of An mian mu zu fang on patients with non-small cell lung cancer-related insomnia. This study was a single-center clinical observation, providing a reference for the treatment of malignant tumors and complications with traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsA total of 88 patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)who met the inclusion criteria of this study were included in the study.According to the random number table, they were divided into the foot bath group with traditional Chinese medicine and the foot bath group with warm water.During the study, the Chinese medicine foot bath group was given the An mian mu zu fang to soak their feet for 20min every night for 7 days. The warm water foot bath groups were given the warm plain water to soak their feet.During the clinical observation, symptomatic treatment was given to the patients, but other pure Chinese medicine preparations and hormone drugs were not used.Patients in the two groups were evaluated at the time of enrollment and one week after treatment, and the changes in sleep quality, quality of life and improvement of TCM symptoms in the two groups were compared by using PSQI score, clinical symptoms evaluation scale score of TCM,and KPS score.Results3 cases of the Chinese medicine foot bath group and 7 cases of other groups were eliminated. The number of effective cases was 77.The difference between the two groups before and after treatment had statistical significance in improving the total score of PSQI,KPS score and TCM syndrome scale score, suggesting significant differences in the efficacy of the two methods. In terms of sleep efficacy, the results of both groups were better than those before treatment, but the effect of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group was more significant(P=0.0377).After treatment, the total PSQI score in both groups decreased compared with that before, but the decrease was more significant in the group of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath(P=0.0317<0.05).The intra-group comparison of the PSQI scores of the two groups after treatment was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in sleep quality, sleep time, sleep time, sleep efficiency or sleep disorder between the two groups(P>0.05),but there was significant difference in the scores of hypnotic drugs and daytime dysfunction(P<0.05).The clinical symptoms of both groups were improved compared with those before treatment, and the effect of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group(68.29%)was more significant than that of warm water foot bath group(43.24%)(P=0.0127).The KPS score of the Chinese medicine foot massage group was significantly improved(P=0.0441<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the KPS score of the warm water foot bath group and that before treatment(P=0.7042>0.05),so the effect of the Chinese medicine foot bath group on improving the quality of life of patients was more significant. There was no significant difference in safety indexes between the two groups before and after treatment.Meanwhile,no serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups.ConclusionAn mian mu zu fang has a good effect in improving the PSQI score,TCM clinical symptom quantity score and quality of life score of NSCLC patients. It can significantly improve the sleep disorder of patients, improve the quality of sleep, reduce hypnotic drug dependence, improve daytime mobility, reduce fatigue, and improve the clinical symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine,as to improve the quality of life of patients. An mian mu zu fang is effective and safe in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer insomnia.
