ObjectiveThis study was a prospective randomized controlled study to investigate the clinical efficacy of heat-sensitive moxibustion in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy(DR)with deficiency of qi and yin, observe the visual acuity,TCM symptoms and quality of life improvement of patients, and further explore the mechanism of heat-sensitive moxibustion in the treatment of DR.MethodsThe 70 patients included in the standard DR patients were randomly divided into treatment group and the control group(n=35).Treatment group in the foundation treatment, and in san yin jiao, jing ming,or tai yang for heat-sensitive moxibustion,30 min each time, three times a week,a total of 3 months; The control group only in the foundation treatment. In the record before and after treatment in patients with BMI,fasting blood glucose(FBG),vision,TCM symptom scores, visual function damage the eye disease patients quality of life rating scale and type 2 diabetes quality of life scale(DMQLS scale)score.SPSS17.0 statistical software package was used for statistical analysis of the dataResults70 subjects were included in the study,2 were exited and 8 were exfoliated.Finally,60 patients completed the experiment,30 in the treatment group and 30 in the control group. There was no significant difference in age, gender and TCM syndromes between the two groups(P>0.05),which was comparable. The visual acuity of the treatment group increased after treatment(P<0.05),while that of the control group showed no significant difference(P>0.05).After 3 months of treatment, the total efficacy of the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).Treatment group after treatment of BMI,FBG was drop in the(all P<0.01),the control group after treatment before BMI is treatment decreased(P<0.01),while FBG there was no significant difference(P>0.05).The treatment group than the control group after treatment BMI decreased significantly(P<0.05),FBG had no significant difference(P>0.05).In the DMQLS scale score, the disease dimension, physiological dimension, social dimension and satisfaction score of the treatment group were all increased after treatment(P<0.01),while there was no significant difference in the social dimension(P>0.05).The scores of physiological dimension and psychological dimension in the control group were higher after treatment than before treatment(P<0.05),and there were no significant differences in disease dimension, social dimension and satisfaction(P>0.05).Treatment group after treatment in the disease dimension, physical dimension and improve satisfaction score is significantly better than the control group(P<0.05),no significant differences in the social dimension and the psychological dimension(P>0.05).In the life quality scale score of patients with visual impairment eye disease, the symptoms, visual function, physical function, social activities and mental and psychological scores of the treatment group were significantly increased after treatment(P<0.01).The control group after treatment symptoms and visual function, mental score higher than before treatment(P<0.01),body function and social activity score had no significant difference(P>0.05).Treatment group after treatment in symptoms, visual function improved significantly better than that of control group(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in physical function, social activity, and psychological score(P>0.05).After 3 months of treatment, the total effective rate was 76.7%in the treatment group and 36.7%in the control group. And the treatment group was better than control group(P<0.05).ConclusionHeat-sensitive moxibustion can improve the vision of DR patients, improve clinical TCM symptoms, and improve the quality of life of patients with good efficacy.
