Object Through the detection and comparison of the ratios of CD4+CD25+FOXP3+regulatory T cells(Treg cell)from peripheral blood of cryptogenic epilepsy adults and healthy controls,analyse the immune states,and the correlations between the ratio of peripheral blood regulatory T cells and EEG changes in crystogenic epileptic adults,to achieve a new way to diagnose and cure epilepsy.Methods Twenty-eight epileptic patients and twenty health volunteers were enrolled in the first affiliated hospital of Bengbu Medical University.Individuals from both groups accepted to participant in this study.Peripheral venous blood were collected using EDTA-K2 vacuum tubes,serving for cytometry analysis after isolated from the whole blood.Epileptic patients accepted EEG after seizures occured.Results 1.The ratios of Treg cells,CD8+T cells and the ratio of CD4+T cells to CD8+T cells in the cryptogenic epilepsy group were(1.23±0.31)%,(25.68±5.99)%,(1.47±0.50)% respectively,while in the control group the results were(1.56±0.20)%,(23.05±4.90)%,and(1.90±0.43)%.The differences between the two groups were significant.The ratios of Treg cells,CD8+T cells and the ratio of CD4+T cells to CD8+T cells in the EEG non-specific abnormal group were higher than those in the normal EEG group.The differences were statistically significant as well.2.The ratios of CD8+T cells raised in the normal EEG group,the EEG non-specific abnormal group and the epileptic wave group,while the ratios of CD4+T cells,Treg cells and the ratios of CD4+T cells to CD8+T cells decreased by turn.These differences were of statistic significance.3.For crystogenic epileptic adults,strong involvement existed between Treg cells and CD4+T cells,and between Treg cells CD8+T cells.Meanwhile,there was a strong positive correlation between the ratio of Treg cells and the ratio of CD8+T cells.Conclusion 1.There are abnormalities in immune function in adults with crystogenic epilepsy,which is already present before taking AEDs.2.The ratios of Treg cell or combined with EEG can more accurately reflect the severity of epilepsy and guide treatments.Treg cells may have neuroprotective effects.
