Objective:using gastric ultrasonographyto observe the gastric emptying of healthy volunteers after intaking three kinds of solid-liquid mixtures meals with the same weight but different components and calories,and comparethe gastric emptying of the three foods.Methods:selecting 19 healthy volunteers age from 25 to 35 who isof grade Iin the ASA classification and of 18 to 28 kg/m2in body mass index(BMI),and exclude them of pregnancy,diabetes mellitus,cardiac insufficiency,liver and kidney dysfunction and metabolic disease,organic diseases of the digestive system.Each volunteer eat the experimental meals in a random sequence for three weeks and take the test meal after 8 hours of fasting.Eat the experimental meals represented by high-protein diet A meal(including eggs,100 g+200 ml water,156 kcal of energy,protein,12.8 g carbohydrate,1.3 g and 11.1 g of fat)for a week,eat the high sugar diet represented by B meal(including whole wheat bread,100 g+200 ml water,228 kcal of energy,protein,9.1 g carbohydrate,43.3 g,1.7 g of fat)for another week,then eat the high fat diet represented by C meal(including whole wheat bread 30 g+water+70 g butter,200 ml,379 kcal of energy,protein 6.58 g,30g carbohydrates,26g fat)for the other week.They were recorded as T0,T5,T60,T60,T120,T180,and T240 respectively at 6 different time points,namely at the time of fasting before eating,5min after eating,60min after eating,120min after eating,180min after eating and 240min after eating.Gastric anteroposterior diameter AP(cm)and head and stern diameter CC(cm)of gastric antrum were observed and recorded by gastric ultrasound scanning at right decubitus.Then,the gastric antrum cross-sectional area(CSA)was calculated as per the formula.The gastric emptying time was to define the gastric antrum cross-sectional area(CSA)as the baseline in this study,and the average gastric emptying time was calculated when the CSA of T5,T60,T120,T180,and T240 dropped to the baseline or below.The second method is based on different CSA at different time points.Linear regression was performed after the software was input,and the gastric emptying time was calculated on this basis.Results:the anteroposterior diameter AP(cm)and head and stern diameter CC(cm)of the gastric antrum increased immediately after the intake of the three groups of solid-liquid mixture meals.Meal A reverted to the CSA baseline at timeT180.At time T240,meal B and meal C reverted to the CSA baseline.The three groups of experimental meals calculated by the two algorithms were respectively algorithm 1:the average gastric emptying time of meal A(189.47±22.48min)was shorter than that of meal B(224.21 ±27.14min)and meal C(240.00±0.00min),P<0.05.The average gastric emptying time of meal B(224.21±27.14min)was shorter than that of meal C(240.00±0.00min),P<0.05.Algorithm 2:the gastric emptying time of meal A was(203.45±14.41min),shorter than that of meal B(212.41±12.28min)and meal C(237.31±14.00min),P<0.05.The gastric emptying time of meal B(212.41±12.28min)was shorter than that of meal C(237.31±14.OOmin),P<0.05.Both of the above two calculation methods reached the same conclusion that the gastric emptying time of the three groups of the testing meals was in the order of C meal>B meal>A meal,from long to short,P<0.05.Conclusions:The conclusions drawn from the above study are as follows:within the scope of this study(1)It can be clearly observed that the process of the volunteers'complete emptying from the empty stomach to the full stomach before and after the three solid-liquid mealsby using an ultrasound of the stomach display.(2)in the case of the same weight,the solid-liquid mixing meal with low calories has a shorter emptying time,while the one with high calories has a longer emptying time;To some extent,the emptying of solid food depends on the calories content of the food.
