Objective:Alcohol consumption is regarded as the carcinogen of gastrointestinal cancer related with oral cavity, throat, esophagus, and liver. However, its relationship with stomach cancer is undetermined. The research results are quite different. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between alcohol consumption and the risk of gastric cancer through a systematic review. And the gender on the hybrid effect was also discussed. The research will provide reference to prevention and control of gastric cancer. Methods:The database of CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,and PubMed were comprehensively searched through computer. The Literatures published between 1998.01-2017.11 were searched by'Stomach cancer','Gastric cancer','Alcohol' through database online. The NOS(Newcastle-Ottawa Scale)was used to evaluate the quality of literatures.Random effect model of Review Manager 5 software was selected, and meta-analysis was used to calculate the OR(Odds ratio)and its corresponding 95%CI(Confidence interval). And the STATA software was used to conduct quantitative analysis of publication bias.Result:A total of 1,304 literatures were retrieved for this study,in which 49 literatures were finally included.Alcohol consumption cases were 7,056,the total number of cases was 15,358,alcohol consumption controls were 9,480,and the total number of controls was 23,849,total of all were 39,207.Meta results showed that the combined OR of alcohol consumption was greater than 1,it was statistically significant(OR=1.60,95%Cl:1.40-1.83,P<0.001).The literatures with ratio of male vs female higher than 2:1 are set as Subgroup 1,while those with ratio of male vs female lower than 2:1 are set as Subgroup 2.The research object of subgroup analysis results showed that the sex ratio at alcohol consumption factors OR value was greater than 1,statistically significant differences in,Subgroup 1(OR=1.67,95%CI:1.41-1.98,P<0.001),Subgroup 2(OR=1.53,95%CI:1.22-1.91,P<0.001).Conclusion:This study suggested that alcohol consumption was a risk factor of gastric cancer.Gender had a certain confounding effect. Therefore, under the premise that gender was controlled,it was more accurate to discuss the relationship between alcohol consumption and other influencing factors with the risk of gastric cancer. There are many factors which have influences on the gastric cancer, and further research is needed to prove its correlation.
