Background and aims:Gastric cancer is the fourth most common tumor and case the second leading cause of cancer death in the world. Nowadays more p53Arg72Pro gene polymorphism study focused on the cervical cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, etc., on gastric cancer susceptibility and p53Arg72Pro son relationship between genetic polymorphism of study is less, but the results are inconsistent, this study the Meta-analysis with the method of evidence-based medicine, Objective To examine the association between P53Arg72Pro polymorphisms and gastric cancer by systematically reviewing the risk of the original studies. Methods :The literature search in PubMed、Medine、EMbase、The Cochra ne Library (Cochrane Central Register of Clinical Trials)、CNKI、CBM、VIP、 Wan Fang Data Science Direct,Springer Link was carried out to find relevant p apers. Disqualified studies were excluded. Odds ratio of p53Pro72Arg genotype distributions in the group of patients with stomach cancer and the group of h ealthy control was calculated. The Meta-analysis was applied with statal3.0 sof tware for heterogeneity test and pooled OR calculation. Results:In Asians, Twenty controlled trials involving were included into this meta-analysis. The pooled OR values of Arg/Pro and Pro/Pro compared to Arg/ Arg was (OR=1.159, 95% CI:1.025~1.331,P=0.019)Conclusion:It is demonstrated that p53Pro72Arg genotype Arg/Pro and Pro/ Pro are the important risk factors to Asians gastric cancer.
