Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is one of the most common mental disorders in children.Due to the complexity of the diagnosis process, undiagnosed but still have ADHD symptoms of school-age children is very common.ADHD symptoms affect individual learning skills, social skills and work skills, and at the same time increase the risk of mental health,so it is necessary to understand the factors affecting ADHD symptoms. With the support of the Dual Pathway Model, this study explore the ways of parenting styles influencing on ADHD symptoms of school-age children, and through the role of the intermediary of peer relations to explore their impact mechanism,so as to provide theoretical support for their family-partner joint intervention program, and provide reference suggestions for their adaptation to school and family life.In this study,801 children and their parents from grade 2 to grade 4 in a primary school in Tianjin were investigated, and the completed questionnaires included DSM-V Adhd Child Behavior Scale,Parenting Style Dimension Questionnaire and Peer Nomination Questionnaire. The results of parenting style questionnaire were composed of parents' self-evaluation and spouse's evaluation, that is,the parenting style of mothers was divided into "mother-evaluation" and"father-evaluation" results, and the parenting style of fathers was divided into "father-evaluation"and "mother-evaluation" results.SPSS 24.0 and Mplus 7.0 were used to test the research model. Our research shows that:after controlling for children's gender, parents' age(1)parents'education level and family annual income, authoritative parenting style was negatively correlated with ADHD symptoms in school-age children, while authoritarian parenting style was positively correlated with ADHD symptoms;(2)peer rejection was negatively correlated with ADHD symptoms, while peer acceptance was positively correlated with ADHD symptoms;(3)peer acceptance and peer rejection play partial mediating roles between authoritarian parenting and ADHD symptoms(attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder);(4)peer acceptance was partially mediating between maternal self-assessment authoritative parenting and ADHD symptoms, and also partially mediating father-mother-assessment authoritative parenting and ADHD symptoms. This study draws the following conclusions:the occurrence of ADHD symptoms in school-age children is related to parental rearing patterns, and peer relationship is an important intermediary factor between parental rearing patterns and ADHD symptoms. It is recommended that parents of children which have symptoms of attention-deficit and hyperactivity replace authoritarian parenting with authoritative parenting, focus on peer relationships, and help establish social networks.
