Objective:Describe the current status of the benefit finding of caregivers of children with acute leukemia. To explore the influencing factors of the benefit finding of caregivers of children with acute leukemia.Exploring the true experience of the benefit finding of the caregivers of children with acute leukemia. Methods:This study is a hybrid study combining quantitative research with qualitative research. The first phase of quantitative research:A total of 155 caregivers of children with acute leukemia in hematology department from a third-grade hospital in Wuhan from August to December 2018 were recruited by convenient sampling method.Questionnaires were surveyed using a general data questionnaire,a simple coping style questionnaire, and a revised version of the benefit finding scale.Statistical analysis was performed using spss 22.0.Descriptive analysis was used primarily for general information on children and caregivers, simple coping styles of caregivers, and benefit finding.Influential factors of benefit finding of caregivers in children with acute leukemia were analyzed by independent sample t test,one-way ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and other statistical analysis methods. The second phase of qualitative research:guided by the phenomenological method, conducted semi-structured in-depth interviews with 12 caregivers who participated in the questionnaire survey on benefit finding, and obtained the full recording of the interviewee's consent. For textual information.Through the analysis method of Colaizzi, the data was analyzed to explore the real experience of the benefit finding of the caregivers of children with acute leukemia.Results:1.Quantitative research results(1)A total of 180 questionnaires were distributed and 155 valid questionnaires were collected, with a recovery rate of 86.1%.(2)The total score of benefit finding of caregivers of children with acute leukemia was(79.12±19.49).Among the five dimensions of the scale, the average scores of the items in each dimension were from high to low:social relationship(3.83±1.01)Personal growth(3.64±1.00),family relationship(3.58±0.98),healthy behavior(3.49±1.17),acceptance(3.40±1.06).(3)One-way analysis of variance showed that the gender of different children(t=2.198,P=0.029),disease risk grade(F=3.325,P=0.021),diagnosis time(F=2.890,P=0.024),number of chemotherapy(F=2.819,P=0.041),relationship between caregiver and children(F=1.71,P=0.047),age(F=2.875,P=0.038),belief(t=4.333,P=0.039)and health The status(F=3.373,P=0.037)had an effect on the benefit finding of the caregiver.(4)Pearson's correlation analysis showed that the positive coping dimension was positively correlated with the caregiver's disease benefit and acceptance, family relationship, personal growth, social relationship, and healthy behavior. The r values were 0.626,0.569,0.570,0.547,0.523,and 0.468,P < 0.01;the negative coping dimension was also positively correlated with the caregiver's disease benefit and each dimension,r values were 0.346,0.315,0.384,0.274,0.309,0.183,P < 0.05.(5)Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors of the caregiver's benefit finding were the time of diagnosis of the disease, the age of the caregiver, the active response of the caregiver, and the negative response, which explained 42.2%of the total variation of the caregiver's disease benefit. The validated regression equation model was statistically significant(F=13.831,P<0.01).2.Qualitative research resultsThe experience of benefit finding of caregivers of children with acute leukemia mainly includes(1)outlook on life, changes in values(watching health and cherishing life, replanning life goals)(2)personal growth(increased health literacy,self-adjustment ability, and Children with growth and psychological resilience)(3)improved interpersonal relationships(perceived interpersonal benefits, family relationships are more intimate)(4)High emotional demand during special periods Conclusion:1.The caregiver of children with acute leukemia has a moderate level of benefit finding, which is high in social relations, personal growth, family relationship, moderate in health behavior, and low in accepting. In clinical care, nurses should pay attention to the psychological care of the caregiver, help them develop a higher level of disease benefit, and maintain a good psychological adaptation in the process of care.2.The diagnosis time of the child, the age of the caregiver, the positive coping dimension, and the negative coping dimension are the main factors affecting the caregiver's benefit finding.Focus on the caregivers who have short-term diagnosis and young age, strengthen the psychological counseling of such people, help caregivers to recognize the value of care, and promote their potential and internal strengths.3.The experience of the benefit finding of the caregivers of children with acute leukemia mainly includes:changes in the values of life, personal growth and interpersonal relationship improvement. The caregiver with the above characteristics has a high sense of benefit, and conducts qualitative interviews based on the investigation and research to more fully and completely describe the disease benefit of the caregivers of children with acute leukemia.
