ObjectiveTo explore the association between Bronchiectasis Severity Index and bronchiectasis TCM syndromes,in order to provide unprecedented clinical thought and evidences for the diagnosis and treatment of bronchiectasis in terms of traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsThis research design to take cross-sectional study with a combination of forward-looking approach.82 hospitalized patients in the Guangdong Provincial Chinese medicine hospital from June 2018 to January 2019,which were diagnosed with bronchiectasis, were brought into the research project. The research firstly collected basic information such as underlying diseases, clinical data and Chinese medicine-associated message on the 82 patients, then complete the Bronchiectasis Severity Index as well as a questionnaire on TCM syndrome. The obtained data is organized by means of Excel to set up a database, and SPSS23.0 software was selected to deal with data.Descriptive data are indicated with meanąstandard deviation or medians(quartiles);measurement data that satisfies normal assumption and homogeneity of variance takes single factor analysis of variance(ANOVA),otherwise rank sum test is preferred.Enumeration data are represented by proportion or frequency to explore the distribution and constituent trend, furthermore it take ?2 test or Fisher exact probability method or non-parametric test, the level of significance test:a=0.05.ResultsOf the 82 brochiectasis cases, there were 47 males patients accounting for 57.32%and 35 females accounting for 42.68%.No correlation was found between TCM syndromes and sex in the bronchiectasis(P=0.913>0.05).There were significant differences between the average age of bronchiectasis cases and TCM syndrome type. This research found that the distribution of syndrome types of TCM in different types of bronchiectasis has a significant difference(P<0.01),the frequency of TCM syndrome type rank as:syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing lung(32.9%),phlegm turbidity obstructs.lung syndrome(24.4%),syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung(13.4%),Lung and spleen deficiency(9.8%),syndrome of wind-heat invading lung(6.1%),liver-fire attacking lung(4.9%),Syndrome of Deficiency of Both the Lung and Kidney(4.9%),Deficiency of both vital Qi and Yin syndrome(3.7%)?The risk stratification of Bronchiectasis Severity Index among disparate TCM syndrome types remained statistically significant(P<0.01).Syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing lung,Phlegm turbidity obstructs lung syndrome and syndrome of wind-heat invading lung are more common in the high-risk group, syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung,Lung and spleen deficiency, syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung are more common in the intermediate risk category,liver-fire attacking lung,Deficiency of both vital Qi and Yin syndrome and Syndrome of Deficiency of Both the Lung and Kidney are more common in the low-risk group. The study also show that Bronchiectasis Severity Index among diverse TCM syndrome types has a significant difference(P<0.01),to compare between any weo means,it indicates that the Bronchiectasis Severity Index score of phlegm-heat accumulated in lung,Phlegm-damp obstructing lung syndrome and syndrome of wind-heat invading lung are higher than other sorts of TCM syndrome types, which are much more likely to approach acute exacerbation.ConclusionThe syndrome types of TCM of bronchiectasis is available to evaluation the risk stratification and predict the risk of acute exacerbation, syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing lung, phlegm turbidity obstructs lung syndrome and syndrome of wind-heat invading lung are more common in the high-risk group, syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung,Lung and spleen deficiency, syndrome of wind-cold attacking lung are more common in the intermediate risk category,liver-fire attacking lung,Deficiency of both vital Qi and Yin syndrome and Syndrome of Deficiency of Both the Lung and Kidney are more common in the low-risk group.Syndrome of phlegm-heat obstructing lung,Phlegm turbidity obstructs lung syndrome and syndrome of wind-heat invading lung has a relatively high risk of acute exacerbation.
