Clinical Analysis Of Two Kinds Of Tension Band Internal Fixation In The Treatment Of Patellar Fracture

Objectives:To compare the clinical efficacy of modified AO tension band and hollow lag screw tension band in the treatment of patella fracture.Methods:Clinical data of 53patients with patella fracture treated with AO tension band and hollow screw steel tension band in our hospital were collected from December 2016 to March 2018,follow-up with 48cases,42 cases of transverse fractures and 6 cases of comminuted fractures.They were divided into different tension band internal fixation treatment.In the AO tension band group,28 cases of patella fracture were treated with modified AO tension band,24 cases of transverse patella fracture,4 cases of comminuted patella fracture,17 cases of male and 11cases of female,aged 24⁷2 years old（average age:45.86±12.09 years old）,19 cases of left side and 9 cases of right side.In the hollow lag screw tension band group,20 cases of patella fracture were treated with modified AO tension band,18 cases of transverse patella fracture,2 cases of comminuted patella fracture,12 cases of male and 8 cases of female,aged 25⁶9 years old（average age:45.98±13.22 years old）,13 cases of left side and 7cases of right side.Postoperative rehabilitation training,regular review,using Lysholm knee function score criteria to evaluate the functional efficiency^[1].Results:The follow-up period was 6-15 months,with an average of 12.32 months in all the 48 cases.The excellent and good rate of knee joint function treated by AO tension band was 82.14%,18 cases was excellent,5 cases was good;The excellent and good rate of knee joint function treated by hollow lag screw tension band was 80.00%,12 cases was excellent,4 cases was good.The results of two groups of tension band internal fixation repairing the patellar fracture were analyzed.There was no significant difference in the excellent and good rate of lysholm knee joint function between the two groups after the last follow-up by Chi-square test（P>0.05）.Conclusions:Through comparing the curative effect of tension band of modified AO tension band of hollow lag screw on patella fracture,we know that the two kinds of tension band internal fixation have definite curative effect on patella fracture.The tension band of modified AO tension band is one of the effective methods to treat patella fracture because of the advantages of simplicity operator,shorter operation time and lower cost.
