| ObjectiveTo compare the clinical curative effect of whole steel-wire compression fixation and the tension band fixation for treatment of patellar fracture.MethodsFrom June 2000 to October 2008, there were fifty-six cases of patellar fracture in our hospital:30 cases were treated with whole steel-wire compression fixation and 26 cases were treated with the tension band fixation. The two groups are compared and analysised the time of fracture recovery, the time of exercise after operation and function recovery of the knee.ResultsThe whole steel-wire group compression fixation:walk in 5 days after operation and fracture recovery from 5 to 6 weeks after operation, the rate of fineness is 100 %; the modified tension band fixation group:walk in 3 weeks after operation and fracture recovery from 7 to 9 weeks after operation, the rate of fineness is 92.3%.ConclusionsBecause of the reliable intension, and early function exercise of the knee, less complications, the whole steel-wire compression fixation for treatment of patellar fracture is an ideal method. |
