Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of arthroscopic suture-bridge technique in repairing rotator cuff injury in elderly patients. Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 32 elderly patients with rotator cuff tear repaired by suture-bridge technique during January 2018 and October 2018.15 males and 17 females were included. The age ranged from 60 to 79.The average age was 65.25±4.32 years old. There were 13 left shoulders,19 right shoulders and 19 dominant shoulders. The course of disease ranged from 3 months to 26 months, with an average duration of 7.125±6.036 months. The angles of flexion, abduction, lateral rotation, abduction 90 degree internal rotation, abduction 90 degree external rotation,VAS score,ASES score and Constant score were compared after operation.Statistical analysis of the data of the two groups was carried out to draw a conclusion.Results:Thirty-two patients enrolled in the study were followed up for an average of 5.6 months. No anchor was pulled out after operation.Postoperative flexion, abduction, lateral rotation, abduction 90 degree internal rotation, abduction 90 degree external rotation were all significantly improved after surgery.Constant score increased from 52.11±13.59 before operation to 74.50±11.18 after operation(t=-18.388,P<0.05),ASES score increased from 48.09± 13.48 before operation to 72.11±12.01 after operation(t=-16.534,P<0.05),abduction angle increased from 110.31±38.62 before operation to 128.75±29.38 after operation(t=-2.996,P<0.05).The VAS score decreased from 4.25 before operation to 1 after operation(P<0.05).The average degree of flexion was increased from 113.59 to 135.31(P<0.05),the average degree of lateral rotation was increased from 19.47 to 30.47(P<0.05),the average degree of abduction 90 degree internal rotation was increased from 42.81 to 58.59(P<0.05),and the average degree of abduction 90 degree external rotation was increased from 34.84 to 53.13(P<0.05).All patients were satisfied with the results of operation. Conclusion:The suture-bridge technique significantly improved the range of motion and function of the shoulder joint in elderly patients with rotator cuff injury, alleviated the pain of the patients, and the clinical effect was fine and clear.
