BackgroundBronchial asthma(BA),referred to as asthma,is a chronic inflammatory airway disease involving a variety of inflammatory cells.It is a common clinical respiratory disease.It is characterized by repeated coughing,wheezing,dyspnea and other clinical features.Repeated or improper treatment can lead to irreversible airway constriction and airway remodeling,seriously affecting the quality of life of patients.Studies have shown that under the action of various inflammatory factors and environmental stimuli,the secretion of cytokines such as MMPs and TGF-beta increases,and under the action of various inflammatory factors,fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells proliferate,leading to airway remodeling.In recent years,TCM has made remarkable progress in the clinical treatment of asthma.Bailing capsule is a pure Chinese medicine produced by low temperature fermentation of Cordyceps militaris powder and biological method.Cordyceps sinensis has a variety of immune functions.It can activate macrophages,T and B lymphocytes to exert immune regulation function.However,there are few studies on airway remodeling.This study aims to explore the effects of Bailing Capsule on airway remodeling related factors,lung function improvement and quality of life in bronchial asthma.PurposeTo study the effect of Bailing Capsule on airway remodeling factor,lung function and quality of life in BA patients.MethodObjectives 52 patients with chronic persistent BA admitted to Department of Respir atory Medicine,First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College from March 2017 to May 2018 were divided into two groups,control group and observation group,26 cases in each group.The control group was given budesonide formoterol powder inhalation once a t ime(budesonide 160 ug,formoterol 4.5ug),twice a day for 12 weeks,and montelukast sodiu mtablets 10 mg,once a day,orally before bed for 12 weeks.The observation group was treat ed with Bailing Capsule 0.5 g,3 capsules per time,3 times a day,orally for 12 weeks on the basis of the treatment method of the control group.The serum levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TGF-beta1 were measured by ELISA before treatment and 12 weeks after treatmen t.The indexes of FVC,FEV1 and PEF were measured by pulmonary function anal yzer.The quality of life was evaluated by ACT score.Finally,SPSS22.0 software is used for analysis.Result1.After 12 weeks of treatment,the serum levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TGF-beta-1 in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the serum levels of MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TGF-beta-1 in the observation group decreased more significantly(P<0.05).2.After 12 weeks of treatment,FVC,FEV1,PEF in the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the observation group increased more significantly(P<0.05).3.After 12 weeks of treatment,the ACT scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),and that of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionBailing Capsule combined with routine treatment can inhibit airway remodeling and improve lung function by lower ing the levels of,MMP-9,TIMP-1 andTGF-beta 1,thus improving the quality of life of asthmatic patients,It has certain clinical application value.
