Objective1.To investigate status of unprotected anal intercourse and multiple sexual partners among male students who have sex with men;2.To investigate the related factors of unprotected anal intercourse among male students who have sex with men;3.To investigate the related factors of multiple sexual partners among male students who have sex with men.MethodsMale students who have sex with men aged 18 years or older,studying or living in Beijing,Tianjin,or Shijiazhuang,have had anal intercourse during the past six months were recruited by community-based organizations.Participants completed the questionnaire on their smart phones.Content of the study would included social demographic characteristics,sexual behaviors,gay app use,sexual partner characteristics,substance use and HIV risk self-perception,et al.c?17?test and non-conditional multivariate logistic regression analysis were conducted to identify the influencing factors related with unprotected anal intercourse and multiple sexual partners in the past six months.For participants who have both protected and unprotected anal intercourse,asking them to review the details of their most recent unprotected anal intercourse and protected anal intercourse.Conditional logistic regression model was used to analyze the causes of inconsistent condom use at the level of sexual partners and sexual situation.Results511 male students who have sex with men,between 18 and 29 years old,were investigated and the average age was?20.07±1.95?years old.82.2%?420/511?were study in university and 59.7%?305/511?were sophomore or junior.39.3%?201/511?of them live on 1000-1499 yuan per month and 80.5%?413/511?lived in dormitories.91.8%?469/511?of them identified themselves as homosexual orientation.55%?281/511?had both insertive and receptive anal intercourse.41.1%?210/511?participants had unprotected anal intercourse during the past six months.65.2%?333/511?participants had two or more sexual partners during the past six months.Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that participants who self-perceived middle HIV risk were more likely to have unprotected anal intercourse during the past six months compared with participants who self-perceived low HIV risk?OR=1.977,95%CI:1.1223.484?.During past six months,having 10 or more years older sexual partners could increasing the risk of having unprotected anal intercourse?OR=2.292,95%CI:1.3873.789?.UsingVacantCapsules?5-Methoxy-diisopropyltryptamine,5-MeO-DiPT?beforeanalintercourse?OR=3.776,95%CI:1.4349.940?and not using a condom for the first anal intercourse?OR=2.433,95%CI:1.5963.71?are risk factors of having unprotected anal intercourse during past six months.Multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis showed the probability of unprotected anal intercourse with a fixed partner was 2.4 times more likely than with a casual partner?OR=2.384,95%CI:1.1594.902?.Whether or not to use a condom decided by sexual partner were risk factors for unprotected anal intercourse?OR=5.520,95%CI:2.58711.778?.Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that the prevalence of multiple sexual partners among male students who have sex with men increases with the frequency of gay apps use.Those who use gay apps"sometimes","often"and"every day"are 1.9 times?OR=1.885,95%CI:0.9903.588?,2.4 times?OR=2.363,95%CI:1.3064.275?and 2.5 times?OR=2.446,95%CI:1.2574.762?more likely to have multiple sexual partners than those who use gay apps"occasionally".Participants who having 10 or more years older sexual partners during the past six months were more likely to have multiple sexual partners compared with participants who never have 10 or more years older sexual partners?OR=2.366,95%CI:1.0605.284?.Having sexual partners not from campus?OR=3.525,95%CI:1.9296.442?,having anal intercourse before 18 years old?OR=1.720,95%CI:1.0562.804?,and using Vacant Capsules/Rush poppers/alcohol before sexual behaviors?OR=2.681,95%CI:1.7424.125?are risk factors of having multiple sexual partners in past six months.ConclusionThere is a high prevalence of unprotected anal intercourse and multiple sexual partners among male students who have sex with men.Self-perceived middle HIV risk,Vacant Capsules/rush poppers/alcohol use,frequent use of gay app,having partners who were much older or not from campus and having first anal intercourse at an early age and didn't use condoms are the risk factors of HIV-related risk behaviors.
