Objective:To explore the influencing factors of self-disclosure among gynecological cancer patients by the theoretical model of psychological stress, and the potential groups by the method of latent class analysis. To provide a basis for future research on intervention based on self-disclosure by exploring the characteristics of each potential groups of self-disclosure based on the influencing factors. Methods:This study is a cross-sectional study.A total of 320 gynecologic cancer patients from five tertiary hospitals were investigated by demographic questionnaire, the Distress Disclosure Index(DDI),Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Cognitive Function(FACT-Cog),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-R Short Scale(EPQ-RSC).Epidata3.1 was used to input data by two researchers.SPSS23.0 and Mplus7.0 were used to explore the potential groups and characteristics of self-disclosure among each groups of gynecologic cancer patients.Results:(1)The score of self-disclosure was(37.71±10.14).(2)There was significant differences in the effect of age, marriageable age, working situation, education level, number of children, cancer staging(F=3.723,4.872,3.130,14.209,4.636,10.000,P<0.05)on self-disclosure among gynecologic cancer patients.(3)Correlation analysis showed that confrontation, social support, type E(extraversion)personality were positive correlated with self-disclosure(r=0.465,0.528,0.493,P<0.05),and avoidance, submission, type P(psychosomatic)personality, type N(neuroticism)personality were negative correlated with self-disclosure(r=-0.239,-0.414,-0.356,-0.357,P<0.05).(4)Multiple stepwise regressions showed that education level, number of children, cancer staging, confrontation, submission, social support, type E(extraversion)personality and type N(neuroticism)personality were explained about 56.7%of the total variance together.(5)Latent class analysis showed that 3 latent classes model of self-disclosure was supported, including“High level-willing to disclosure to various people”(25.3%),“Medium level-willing to disclosure to spouse”(35.0%)and“Low level-not willing to disclosure to anyone”(39.7%).There was significant differences in the effect of education level, number of children, cancer staging, confrontation, submission, social support, type E(extraversion)personality and type N(neuroticism)personality(χ~2=40.870,15.720,23.156,52.939,39.702,76.111,76.565,29.299,P<0.05).Conclusion:Gynecologic cancer patients have medium level self-disclosure,and there were significant differences in the effect of education level, number of children, cancer staging, confrontation, submission, social support, type E(extraversion)personality and type N(neuroticism)personality. Moreover, the self-disclosure of gynecological cancer patients can be divided into three groups which has their own characteristics. The characteristics of different groups should be considered in the self-disclosure intervention to improve the effect in gynecologic cancer patients. |
