Objective:To explore The relationships between invasive breast cancer with calcification and clinical, pathological features and prognosis. Methods:Clinical, pathological and follow-up data of 729 cases of invasive breast cancer were analyzed retrospectively. This patients were completed the standardized treatment in the department of breast surgery of the First Hospital of Jilin University from June 2011 to June 2013.According to the result of mammography results, they were divided into calcification group and non-calcification group.Chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between calcifications and clinicopathological features. The Logistic regression was used to analyze the related risk factors affecting the presence of calcification in invasive breast cancer. We evaluated the relationship between calcification and patient's prognosis by Kaplan-Meier method.Cox proportional risk regression model was used to analyze whether calcification was an independent risk factor affecting the survival of IBC patients. Results:Compared with the non-calcification group, the her-2 overexpression(P<0.001),Tumor diameter?2cm(P=0.004),histological grade II(P=0.006),axillary lymph node metastasis(P=0.001)and on the left(P=0.016)was associated with the calcification group.Her-2 overexpression(P<0.001,OR=3.288,95% CI: 2.164~4.996),lymph node metastasis(P=0.012,OR=1.513,95% CI: 1.094~2.091)and middle-low histological grading(P<0.001,OR=0.513,95% CI: 0.353~0.747)were independent risk factors for calcification in IBC.That calcification was a risk factor of Disease-free survival(DFS)in IBC patients(P=0.010),and there was no significant correlation between calcification and Overall survival(OS)of the patients.Subgroup survival analysis showed that the DFS of IBC patients in the negative group of Estrogen receptor(ER)(P= 0.041),the Progesterone receptor(PR)negative group(P=0.035),the Her-2 overexpression group(P=0.003),the lymph node metastasis group(P=0.017),the Ki-67 low expression group(P=0.038)and the middle-low histological grade group(P=0.013)for 6 years were all worse than that in the non-calcification groupIn the group with Her-2 overexpression(P=0.005),the 6-year OS of IBC patients in the calcification group was worse than that in the non-calcification group.Survival analysis of different histological types of breast cancer showedthat the 6-year DFS(P=0.003)and OS(P= 0.006)of patients in the calcification group were worse than those in the non-calcification group.Cox univariate analysis showed that calcification was a risk factor for DFS(P=0.011,HR=1.067,95%CI :1.125 ~ 2.479).Cox multivariate analysis showed that calcification was not an independent prognosis factor affecting patients' DFS(P=0.177)and OS(P=0.909).Conclusion:(1)Calcifications in IBC was associated with poor clinicopathological features(Her-2 overexpression,Tumor diameter?2cm,axillary lymph node metastasis).(2)Calcifications in IBC is a risk factor for patient's DFS.(3)With the deepening understanding of the relationship between calcification and prognosis,it is possible that the presence of calcifications could be considered alongside other major prognostic factors to determine treatment options for patients with invasion breast cancer.
