| Objective:To evaluate the performance of axial-pattern composite tissue flap in therepair of skin defects after lip cancer resection.Methods:From July 2012 to December 2017,8 patientswith lip cancer were enrolled from Department of Dermatology,the Second Hospital of Jilin University.Afterlip tumor resection,the full-thickness defects were as long as 1/3 to 1/2 length of the lip,and all cases were repaired with axial composite tissue flap with labial artery and labial artery arch as axis center.The patients were aged from 38 to 62 old including 6 male patients and 2 female patients.There were 2 cases of upper lip defect and 6 cases of lower lip defect.The defect area sizes were from 2.3 cm × 2.0 cm to 4.0 cm × 3.5 cm.After the lip tumor was resected,the lip axial composite tissue flap was designed to promote the repair of the defect area according to the specific condition of the defect and the patient's physical condition.Results:The survival rate of flaps is 100%.The total choiceness rate is 87.5% and the satisfaction rate is 75%.At present,they had been followed up of 18 months to 6 years showing no recurrence of the tumor with perfect in shape and function of the lip.Most of the patients were satisfied.Conclusion:The axial composite tissue flap with the axis of labial artery and labial artery arch has high survival rate because the position of upper and lower labial artery arch is constant and there are more branches of blood vessels in the lip surrounding area.The shape of lip was good after operation,and there was no obvious deformity of small mouth.The function of orbicularis muscle was almost unaffected.It can restore the aesthetic function on the basis of normal anatomy and physiological function of lip,and the overall effect is better.This procedure is simple and easy to operate.It is not only less invasive but also more subtle in scar.At the same time,due to the short treatment cycle,patients spend less,resulting in less pain and higher quality of life after operation. |
