| Objectives : To investigate the clinical features, pathological features, differential diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of retroperitoneal Castleman’s disease(CD).Methods :The clinical data of 10 patients with retroperitoneal Castleman disease admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January 2008 to January 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Results :Among the 10 patients, there were 5 male and 5 female, with a median aged of 33 years old(range 4 to 74),4 Patients were found retroperitoneal mass through routine check-up.There were 6 patients with clinical symptoms.Among them,6 patients were unicentric Castleman’s disease(UCD),4 patients were multicentric Castleman’s disease(MCD).7 cases with open or laparoscopic resection of tumor, and 3 cases with partial resection or biopsy under laparotomy or laparoscopy. All patients were diagnosed as Castleman’s disease by pathological and histological examination,2 patients were plasma cell type(PC),and 8 patients were hyaline vascular type(HV).These 10 patients were follow-up for 12 months to 96 months(median,33months),of which 1 patient was lost to reveiw,6 patients were alive wtihout recurrence,2 patients survived without advanced and 1 patient died. Conclusion : The clinical, laboratory and imaging findings of retroperitoneal Castleman’s disease are not specific and it’s easily confused with other diseases. The final diagnosis still depends on pathologic examination. The treatment of unicentric retroperitoneal Castleman’s disease is to complete resection of the involved lesion and have favorable outcome.Multicentric retroperitoneal Castleman’s disease still needs multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and the progonosis of advanced patients is poor. |
