Objective Retroperitoneal Castleman's disease is relatively rare, and its clinical manifestations are lack of specificity, the cases of retroperitoneal unicentric Castleman disease(Castleman disease,CD)are reviewed to analyse its clinical featuresz, diagnosis and treatment. Methods The clinical data of 6 cases of retroperitoneal UCD treated from January 2011 to January 2017 were analyzed retrospectively,Including the patient's symptoms, physical signs, physical examination, auxiliary examination, treatment, pathological results and other clinical data. The statistics of patient's gender, age, tumor size and location, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative blood transfusion, postoperative pathological results, postoperative hospital stay days were recorded. Results 2 cases were cured by laparoscopic surgery,1 case was converted to open operation because the renal vein was surrounded by the lump. The operation time of laparoscopic surgery was 1.8 h,2.5 h respectively, the average was 2.2 h.And the time of laparotomy was 6.75 h.The blood loss were 60 ml,50 ml respectively, the average was 55 ml.And the blood loss of laparotomy was 800 ml,the volume of blood transfusion was 1.5 U.3 cases were cured by open surgery, the operation time were 2.0 h,2.0 h,1.6h respectively, the average was 1.9h.The blood loss were 800 ml,600 ml,300 ml respectively, the average was 566.7ml.The volume of blood transfusion were 3 U,2U,0U respectively. All these cases were followed up for 8 to 70 months,40.5 months on average, there were no local recurrences and metastasis. Conclusions The clinical manifestations and imaging tests of CD are lack of specificity, and easy to be misdiagnosed. The unicentric mass is generally large and may have some adhesion with adjacent tissues. The retroperitoneal laparoscopic resection shows advantages in safety, effectiveness, operative trauma and postoperative recovery time, yet the preoperative evaluation is crucial to surgical intervention.
