Correlation Between Shh Protein And Inflammatory Degree Of Chronic Periodontitis

Objective:To investigate the relationship between Shh protein in Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway and the degree of inflammation in chronic periodontitis.Method:In this experiment,60 subjects who met the requirements were divided into three groups: mild chronic periodontitis group,moderate and severe chronic periodontitis group and healthy control group.Each group contained 20 samples with Shh,.The levels of Shh protein,IL-6 and IL-10 in gingival crevicular fluid were detected by IL-6 and IL-10 kits,and the correlation between Shh protein and IL-6 and IL-10,as well as the correlation between Shh protein and periodontal clinical indexes were analyzed statistically.Results:(1)The levels of Shh protein and IL-6 in gingival crevicular fluid were higher in chronic periodontitis group than in healthy control group(P < 0.05),and in moderate and severe chronic periodontitis group were higher than those in mild chronic periodontitis group(P < 0.05).The level of IL-10 in mild chronic periodontitis group was higher than that in healthy control group and moderate-severe chronic periodontitis group(P < 0.05),and that in healthy control group was higher than that in moderate-severe chronic periodontitis group(P < 0.05).(2)The levels of Shh protein and IL-6 were positively correlated with BI,PD(P < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Shh protein is positively correlated with clinical indexes of chronic periodontitis,which is expected to be used as an auxiliary biochemical index to judge the progress of chronic periodontitis.(2)Sonic Hedgehog signaling pathway may be involved in the inflammatory response of chronic periodontitis.
