Objective: To study the risk factors for malignant tumor-associated liver abscesses. Methods: A retrospective analysis of data was from 881 patients with liver abscess from January 2005 to May 2018.A total of 62 patients with malignant tumor-associated abscess, the experimental group was compared to the patients in the control group(n = 146)without malignant tumor-associated liver abscess. The data of 52 cases of malignant and non-malignant liver abscess was verified. Results: The total incidence of malignant tumor-related liver abscess in Guangxi Medical University was 9.99%.The incidence of potential malignant tumor with liver abscess was 4.65%,and the tumor type is mainly hepatobiliary malignant tumor(72.3%).The overall incidence of non-potential malignant liver abscess was 5.33%.Ineffective rate and mortality were higher in the malignant tumor group(19.4%).Multivariate analysis showed that hepatobiliary interventional therapy or surgery, hepatitis B virus infection, multiple abscesses, portal embolism, and bile duct dilatation were independent risk factors for potential malignant tumors. Conclusion: Malignant tumor-related liver abscess has a poor prognosis.Pyogenic liver abscess may be an early warning for potential malignant tumors.High-risk population of potential malignant tumors: hepatobiliary malignant tumors or colorectal cancer(independent risk factors ? 1 or logit(P)>-1.694).
