Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Constipation Irritable Bowel Syndrome With Simo Decoction

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of modified Simo decoction on Constipation Irritable Bowel Syndrome.Methods: Sixty-seven patients with constipation-type irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)who met the inclusion criteria were randomly assigned to a randomized digital table to be randomly divided into Si Mo Decotion treatments(treatment group),33 patients,and 34 patients were treated with procarbil succinate tablets(control group).3 cases were lost in the treatment group,4 cases were lost in the control group,60 cases were actually observed in the clinic,and 30 cases in each group.The course of treatment was 4 weeks.The total scores of symptoms and the changes of symptoms,anxiety and depression scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Statistical analysis was made and conclusions were drawn.Results:1.There were nosignificant differences in age,gender,course of disease,pre-treatment symptom scores and total scores between the two groups(P>0.05).2.After 4 weeks of treatment: The total effective rate was 86.7% in the treatment group and 80.00% in the control group.There was no significant difference in the total effective rate between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).The total scores of symptomsin the treatment group and in the control group were improved compared with those before treatment(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total scores between the treatment group and in the control group there were no significant differences between the two groups in the symptoms of defecation,stool shape,difficulty in defecation,and abdominal distension(P>0.05).In the abdominal pain,anorexia,belching,emotional depression,the treatment group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).3.The scores of anxiety and depression after treatment in both groups were significantly improved(P<0.05),and the treatment group was superior to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The long-term curative effect of the modified Simo Decoction in treating constipation-type irritable bowel syndrome is better than that of the control group,indicating that the modified Simo Decoction has definite curative effect in treating constipation-type irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Moreover,it is better than the control group in improving anxiety and depression of patients,which is worthy of further clinical research and application.
