Purpose: To investigate the treatment efficacy of keloid via epidermal-preserved scar stripping combined with self-adhesive soft silicone dressing.Method: Seventy-six patients diagnosed with keloids from January 2017 to June2018 in our hospital were selected as subjects. The patients were randomly grouped into two groups(38 individuals per group)including group A(control group)and group B(observation group).According to the tension of each part, each group was divided into high tension group(18 cases of chest and shoulder group)and low tension group(15 cases in the ear neck group)and 5 patients in the other group: the patients in group A were treated with epidermal-preserved scar stripping only;the patients in group B were treated with epidermal-preserved scar stripping combined with self-adhesive soft silicone dressing,in detail, patients in group B began to use self-adhesive soft silicone dressing daily after one week post-operation.The soft silicone dressing was used for more than 12 hours one day and used continuously for three months. The Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS)score was used to compare treatment efficacy between preoperative and postoperative 6 months.Result: After 6 months of treatment in group A and group B,the VSS scores of the observation group and the control group were significantly decreased, performing statistical difference(p<0.05).The VSS score of the observation group in the chest and shoulder group and other groups was significantly lower at 6 months after treatment than that for control group(p<0.05).There was no significant difference in the VSS score between the observation group and the control group at 6 months after treatment in the ear-face neck group(p>0.05),indicating that the difference in efficacy perform no statistically significant..Conclusions:1.Epidermal-preserved scar stripping significantly reduce the VSS scores of keloids in various parts of the body, especially in the face and neck, with remarkabletreatment efficacy with few obvious adverse reactions, which is worthy of clinical promotion.2.chest and shoulder back and other parts of the body, the use of Epidermalpreserved scar stripping combined with self-adhesive soft silicone dressing can significantly reduce the VSS score, mainly improve the appearance of scars and relieve itching symptoms, but further observation is still needed for its long-term treatment efficacy.
