ObjectiveThrough the use of questionnaires,understand the depression,Internet addiction and social support status of college students in western Liaoning,and analyze the relationship between depression,Internet addiction and social support.To provide a theoretical basis for the study of college students' mental health.MethodsThree universities,Jinzhou Medical University,Liaoning University of Technology and Bohai University,in western Liaoning Province,were selected,and a stratified cluster random sampling method was used,according to different grades,taking the class as a whole,to select 1,400 college students for questionnaire survey.The questionnaire included: general situation questionnaire,Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D),Internet Addiction Impairment Index(IAII),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).And using the SPSS21.0 and AMOS21.0 statistical analysis software to analysis.The t-test,anova and LSD multiple comparison were used to analyze the scores of college students with different demographic characteristics.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between scores of college students.The multiple linear regression analysis and Bootstrap method were used to test and verify the mediating effect of internet addiction respectively.Results1.The score of depression scale for college students in western Liaoning Province was(19.09±10.84),and the rate of depression symptom was 32.82%.The scores of depression scale for college students in western Liaoning were statistically significant in terms of gender,grade,family address,the first time to surf the Internet,and the time of surfing the Internet every day(P<0.05);2.The score of Internet addiction scale for college students in western Liaoning Province was(42.38±15.39),and the detection rate of Internet addiction was 36.49%.The scores of Internet addiction scale for college students in western Liaoning Province were statistically significant in terms of gender,grade,family address,the first time to surf the Internet,and the time of surfing the Internet every day(P<0.05);3.The score of social support scale for college students in western Liaoning Province was(39.14±6.54).The scores of social support scale for college students in western Liaoning Province were statistically significant in terms of gender,grade and the time of surfing the Internet every day(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the family address and the first time to surf the Internet(P>0.05).4.There was a significant positive correlation between depression scale score and Internet addiction scale score for college students in western Liaoning Province(r=0.640,P<0.01);The score of social support scale was significantly negatively correlated with the score of depression scale and Internet addiction scale(r=-0.364,P<0.01;r=-0.362,P<0.01);5.The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that: The predictive effect of social support on depression was statistically significant(B=-0.544,t=-12.894,P<0.001);The predictive effect of social support on Internet addiction was statistically significant(B=-0.725,t=-12.123,P<0.001);The predictive effect of social support and Internet addiction on depression were all statistically significant(B=-0.253,t=-6.912,P<0.001;B=0.403,t=25.549,P<0.001).6.The results of structural equation model showed that: The total effect of social support to depression was-0.456;The direct effect of social support on depression was-0.161;The indirect effect of social support to depression was-0.296,accounting for 64.9% of the total effect(-0.296 /-0.456).Conclusions1.Female students,grade was junior and senior,family address was county and countryside,the first time to surf the Internet was high school and university,daily online time ?7 hours were more likely to be depressed;2.Female students,grade was junior and senior,family address was county,the first time to surf the Internet was high school and university,daily online time ?7 hours were more prone to Internet addiction;3.The social support level of male students,freshmen and students with Internet access time <4 hours per day was higher;4.There was a positive correlation between Internet addiction scale and depression scale,negative correlation between social support scale and Internet addiction scale,and negative correlation between social support scale and depression scale;5.Internet addiction plays a partial mediation role of social support and depression,reasonable and correct use Internet is of great significance to the mental health of college students.
