BackgroundWith the development of industrialization,human exposure to noise is gradually increasing.Noise is an important cause of tinnitus and hearing loss.And noise is considered to be the top of seven major hazards in the world[1].According to the survey[2],about 5%of the world's people suffer from hearing loss due to strong noise stimulation.Acute acoustic trauma(acute acoustic trauma,AAT)characterized by hearing loss,tinnitus and earache occurs during or after exposure to one or more high intensity impulse noise or steady-state noise.Tinnitus caused by noise(tinnitus caused by noise,TCN)is caused by the damage of inner ear hair cells caused by noise exposure.TCN is common in special occupational environments,especially in military training.Intense impulse noise is a typical military noise,which mainly damages the middle ear and inner ear.At present,the mechanism of TCN injury is mainly considered as mechanical injury and metabolic injury[3,4]Tinnitus patients are often accompanied by different degrees of anxiety and depression,and anxiety and depression aggravate tinnitus.The influence of tinnitus on patients is the results of tinnitus itself and its negative psychological reaction,which forms a vicious circle.Therefore,paying attention to the psychological problems of tinnitus patients is an indispensable aspect in the diagnosis and treatment oftinnitus[5,6].Rhodiola is a traditional Chinese medicine with a wide range of functions,such as anti-ischemia and hypoxia,anti-oxidation,anti-anxiety,anti-depression,anti-fatigue and neuroprotection.The most active compoment of rhodiola is salidroside,which is a phenylpropanoid glycoside extracted from the roots and stems of rhodiola[7-9].ObjectiveTo explore the therapeutic effect of rhodiola on impulse noise tinnitus,the patients with impulse noise tinnitus were given orally Nuodikang capsule(composed of rhodiola).MethodsBy using the random number table method,290 soliders with impulse noise tinnitus in the otolaryngology clinic and hearing center of our hospital from December 2017 to October 2018 were divided into experimental group and control group,145 in each group.The experimental group was treated with conventional drugs(Ginkgo biloba extract drops,compound vitamin B tables,betahistine mesylate tablets)and Nuodikang capsules,while the control group was treated with the same conventional drugs as the experimental group and the same dose of starch tablets(used as placebo)as Nuodikang capsules.All drugs were taken regularly for 3 consecutive months.Tinnitus handicap inventory(Tinnitus Handicap Inventory,THI),Beck depression inventory II(Beck Depression Inventory ?,BDI-?)and State-trait anxiety inventory(State-Trait Anxiety Inventory,STAI)were used to quantify the tinnitus,depression and anxiety of the two groups before and 1,2 and 3 months after the treatment.Statistical analysis SPSS 21.0 statistical analysis software was used X2 test was used to compare the counting data.Metrological data were measured by mean ± standard deviation Independent sample t test and repeated measurement ANOVA were used to compare the two groups.There is statistically significant difference(p<0.05)ResultsThere was no significant difference in tinnitus,depression and anxiety between the two groups before treatment(p>0.05).At the different stages of the disease,there were significant differences in tinnitus,anxiety and depression scores between the two groups 1,2 and 3 months after the treatment,and the experimental group scored lower than the control group(p<0.05).At the same stage after treatment,there were statistically significant differences in the effectiveness rate of tinnitus between these two groups(p<0.05).The effectiveness rate of tinnitus in the experimental group was much higher than that of the control group.There were significant differences in tinnitus,anxiety and depression scores between the two groups at different treatment stages(p<0.05).Among the two groups,it showed that there was the best effectiveness treatment in acute tinnitus,second in subacute tinnitus,and third in chronic tinnitus.and the effectiveness rate of tinnitus in the experimental group was much higher than that of the control group.It confirmed that the shorter the course of tinnitus and the better the therapeutic effectsConclusionRhodiola can significantly improve the tinnitus induced by impulse noise,and can also significantly improve the anxiety and depression of patients with impulse noise tinnitus.The possible mechanism is that Rhodiola has the property of anti-hypoxia,anti-oxidation,anti-anxiety and anti-depression.The shorter the course of tinnitus,the better the therapeutic effect.
