Background and ObjectiveIschemic stroke(IS)has the highest incidence, mortality and recurrence rate in all strokes, and is the focus and difficulty of human disease prevention and treatment.Recent studies have shown that there is a certain relationship between intestinal flora disorder and ischemic stroke, but the specific mechanism is still unclear, and there are no studies on the characteristics of intestinal flora changes in different stages of ischemic stroke and its correlation with intestinal function. Therefore, this study took patients with ischemic stroke and healthy controls as the research objects, and used the high-throughput sequencing platform to conduct qualitative analysis on the fecal samples of both patients,so as to clarify the changes of intestinal flora in patients with ischemic stroke at different stages, and thus provide new targets for stroke treatment.Subjects and MethodsThe first fecal specimens of 15 patients with ischemic stroke in the acute phase(within 2 weeks)and recovery period(2 weeks to 1 month)were collected continuously. The high-molecular-weight sequencing platform was used to characterize the 16 SRNA V3-V4 region of the stool specimen. The analysis was compared with the statistics of fecal specimens from 20 normal healthy adults.ResultsCompared with the healthy control group, the intestinal flora diversity of the patients with cerebral infarction decreased during the acute phase and the recovery phase(P < 0.05),and the intestinal flora increased during the recovery phase compared with the acute phase(P<0.05).The characteristic flora of the healthy control group is Bacteroides and Faecalibacterium, and the characteristic flora in the acute phase is Providencia and Oscillibacter. The characteristic flora in the recovery period is Providencia and Ruminococcaceae. However, compared with the intestinal flora in the acute phase and the recovery phase,no statistically significant differences were found.ConclusionsCompared with the healthy control group, the ischemic stroke patients experienced decreased intestinal flora diversity, decreased beneficial bacteria, and increased pathogenic pathogens in the acute and recovery phases.Compared with the acute phase, the recovery of intestinal flora increased the intestinal flora and the intestinal flora and function had a tendency to recover.
