Objective:The aim of the study is to investigate the prevalence and influence factors of Subthreshold depression among the elderly with mild cognitive impairment in Zhangjiawan Street Community,Hongshan District of Wuhan City,and to gain the self-experience of emotion management in MCI older people with Subthreshold depression,so as to explore intervention strategies and provide scientific basis for mental health of MCI older people in communities.Methods:The investigation of Subthreshold depression in MCI older people was used convenience sampling method in more than65-year-old people from 16 communities in Hongshan District,Wuhan.The measurement data were analyzed by t test,the enumerationdata were performed by?~2test and multivariable logistic regression analysis for factor analysis.Through hermeneutic phenomenology method of qualitative research,12 MCI older people with Subthresholddepressionweregivensemi-structuredfocus interviews and data analysis was implemented by Colaizzi data analysis method.Results:1.A total of 623 the elderly in communities were investigated.There were 148 elderly people with MCI,32 of whom were diagnosed with Subthreshold depression,and the prevalence of Subthreshold depression in older people with MCI was 21.62%.2.Age,marital status,living conditions,negative events in the past 3 months,physical exercise,and quality of sleep were significantly associated with the incidence of Subthreshold depression in elderly with MCI(P<0.05).Multivariable logistic regression analysis reveal negative events in the past 3 months were risk factors;satisfaction with quality of sleep were protecting factors for Subthreshold depression in elderly with MCI.3.The elderly with Subthreshold depression having MCI showed poorer function in attention than older people without Subthreshold depression having MCI.4.Three themes and four sub-themes were extracted after data analysis.The first theme they adjusted negative emotions in many ways,which included four sub-themes:relieving their feelings and talking to their family and friends,cultivating rich hobbies,self-learning and actively seeking professional treatments.The second theme was lack of scientific emotional conditioning knowledge,and the last theme was hoping for professional guidance and help.Conclusion:The prevalence of Subthreshold depression among the elderly with MCI in Zhangjiawan Street Community,Hongshan District of Wuhan City is relatively high.The elderly with MCI who has negative events in the past 3 months should be focused.And Subthreshold depression might affect cognitive function in older people with MCI.It is important for health department and related institutions to pay attention toassess the psychological status of MCI elderly in community,especially including the early detection and monitoring of subthreshold depression,cognitive function.Taking interventions that combined the influencing factors with the self-experience of emotion management in MCI older people with Subthreshold depression to guide them to reasonably cope with bad emotions such as depression,reduce the impact of depression on cognitive function,and improve the happiness of life with MCI elderly people in community.
