PURPOSE This article explores the clinical effects of thoracoscopic assisted minimally invasive surgery for pediatric lung disease by comparing the thoracoscopic surgery with conventional thoracotomy.Method Summarize and analyze of pediatric video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS)performed in The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University compared with those open-chest pediatric surgery from Feb 2013 to Oct 2017,a total of 43 children were diagnose lung disease and underwent thoracic surgery,including12 cases of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS group)and 41 cases of open-chest pediatric surgery(open-chest group). We use SPSS Statistics21 to compare the operative time, total of postoperative total drainage, length of stay in hospital after surgery, hospitalization costs and incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups.RESULT The blood loss volume during the surgery(40.83±35.93)ml,total of postoperative total drainage(180.83±48.73)ml,length of stay in hospital after surgery(4.33±1.03)days,incidence of postoperative complications(0%)were significantly smaller in the VATS group, the results were statistically significant(P < 0.05).The surgery time and the hospitalization costs has no significant statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion In our opinion,VATS for children is a kind of surgical technique with less trauma, less pain, rapid recovery, high safety and low mortality. It has high surgical value and should be clinically promoted.
