Objection To explore and compare the effect of breast-feeding,non-nutritive sucking on pain caused by indwelling needle in infant. Methods By using the convenience sampling method,150 infantile with pneumonia in the first affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou University from February 2017 to June 2017 were selected. The infants included in the study were randomly divided into three groups: the breastfeeding group, the non-nutritive sucking group and the control group, each group of 50.Two minutes before the intravenous needle puncture, the breastfeeding group was breast-fed by the mother; The non-nutritive sucking group infant was held by the mother to give suckling pacifier;Routine swaddling packages was used in the control group; The intervention time of the two intervention groups lasted for 8 minutes after the puncture. The pain was evaluated by using pain, crying, heart rate, and one puncture success rate to evaluate the effects of breastfeeding,non-nutritive sucking and hugging. Results 1.The time points of the painful facial appearance of the breast suckling group(4 seconds)and non-nutritive sucking group(2.5seconds)were later than the control group(1seconds),and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).In terms of the duration of the pain, crying, crying began in the puncture point in time, after crying duration, breast milk sucking baby was different from non nutritional sucking groupand the group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).There was no statistically significant difference(P > 0.05)between non-nutritive sucking groupand the control group about the duration of the pain, the number of crying and the time of crying started after the puncture.2.There was no significant difference in heart rate between infants in breast-feeding group,non-nutritive sucking group and control group after the puncture of the intravenous needle puncture and the end of the puncture(P > 0.05).3.The successful rate of one puncture in breast-sucking group and non-nutritive sucking group was significant higher than that in control group by 92%/90%(P < 0.05).Conclusion Breast-sucking and non-nutritive sucking could delay the time when the painful face appears.Breast-milk sucking could also delay the time when the crying occurs, and shorten the duration of the painful face and crying. Both breast-feeding and non-nutritive sucking can increase the infants' Needle Puncture success rate, and breast-sucking interventions was better than non-nutritive sucking.
