Obj ective:(1)Translation,reliability and validity test were conducted on the English version of"Students' Interest in Nursing Older People Scale(SINOPS)" to form the Chinese version of SINOPS to measure Chinese nursing students' attitudes towards working with older people;(2)To analyze and compare the attitudes of undergraduate nursing students in China and the UK towards working with older people and their influencing factors,so as to formulate an older people nursing training program,in order to improve the attitudes of nursing students towards working with older people, and to provide theoretical basis for encouraging nursing students to choose older people nursing.Methods:1.Phase ?:Questionnaire survey in Ulster University.Demographic data information questionnaire,SINOPS and Kogan's attitudes toward older people questionnaire were used to investigate 162 final-year nursing students in the Ulster University in the UK from 11.30.2018 to 12.07.2018.The statistical methods include statistical description,U test,t test,Spearman correlation analysis and Pearson correlation analysis.2.Phase ?:SINOPS localization and reliability and validity test. After obtaining the consent of the author of the scale, forward translation, synthesis, back translation, comparison, expert consultation and pre-survey were conducted form the first draft of the Chinese version of SINOPS.In the pre-survey stage,25 nursing undergraduates were selected as research objects to evaluate the feasibility of the scale.Using convenient sampling method,301 second and third year nursing undergraduates were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria for SINOPS survey in Chinese. The collected data were analyzed for items of the scale and tested for reliability and validity.SPSS 25.0 statistical software was used for data statistical analysis.3.Phase ?:Questionnaire survey in NJUCM.Demographic data information questionnaire,Chinese version of SINOPS and Chinese version of KAOP were used to investigate 195 final-year nursing students of NJUCM from 2019.02.19 to 2019.02.28.The statistical methods include statistical description,U test,t test,Spearman correlation analysis and Pearson correlation analysis.Results:(1)British nursing students hold a positive attitude towards working with older people,SINOPS score of 162 respondents is 64.81(11.60).The score of challenging aspects of older people nursing and opportunities for career advancement is the highest with 74.95(23.00).The quality of older people nursing score was the lowest,56.67(13.96).There was a positive correlation between nursing students' attitude toward older people and their attitude toward working with older people(r=.478,P<0.001).The older nursing students(26-50 yrs)had less prejudice against the older people(P<0.001)than the younger nursing students(?25 yrs)in terms of challenging aspects of older people nursing and opportunities for career advancement.Nursing students with residential care experience were more willing to work with older people than nursing students who have not worked in residential care(P<0.001).Nursing students majoring in mental health care had more positive attitude towards the older people than those majoring in adult health care(P<0.001).The nursing students who had not taken care of the older people had more positive attitude towards the aged than those who had taken care of the older people(P<0.001).(2)The content validity index(CVI)of SINOPS scale was 1.The Cronbach's coefficient of SINOPS is 0.843,and the Cronbach's coefficient of each dimension is 0.641-0.773.(3)Chinese nursing students' attitude toward working with older people is at a medium level, and the SINOPS score of 195 respondents is 54.62(8.04).The score of challenging aspects of older people nursing and opportunities for career advancement is the highest with is 70.37(12.46).The score of valuing older people nursing was the lowest,46.75(22.5).There was a positive correlation between nursing students'attitude toward older people and their attitude toward working with older people(r=.369,P<0.001).Female nursing students are more willing to engage in older people nursing than male nursing students and female nursing students have a more positive attitude towards older people;Young nursing students(?20yrs)were more active in working with older people and in the characteristics of geriatric nursing than older nursing students(21-25yrs)(P<0.05).The nursing students who had not nursed older people in the hospital had more positive attitudes towards working with odler people and the characteristics of older people nursing than those who had nursed older people in the hospital(P<0.05).The nursing students who had the experience of working with older people at home had more positive attitude towards working with older people and the characteristics of older people nursing than those who had not(P<0.05).Nursing students who had nursing experience had more negative attitude towards the older people than those who had no nursing experience.(4)The comparison of the results of the survey in China and the UK found that there are more nursing students in the UK who have nursing experience in working with older people than in China, and the types of nursing places in the UK are more than in China, and not limited to the clinical practice in the nursing curriculum plan. However, there are more nursing students working with older relatives in China than in Britain. In addition to challenging aspects of older people nursing and opportunities for career and attitude toward older people are more positive than the Chinese nursing students' attitude(P<0.001).Conclusion:(1)The Chinese version of "students' interest in nursing older people scale" has a good reliability and validity, which can be used to measure students' interest in nursing older people.(2)British nursing students hold a positive attitude toward working with older people, while Chinese nursing students have a medium attitude to care for the elderly;(3)Nursing students' attitude toward older people and working with older people are positively correlated;(4)"High quality"
