Clinical Observation Of Strengthening Spleen And Nourishing Kidney Massage To Prevent Global Developmental Delay

Objective:In this study,Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage was given to children with GDD based on routine rehabilitation therapy.By observing the Pre-and Post-treatment score changes of the Gesell Development Scale(GDS),Gross Motor Function Measure-88(GMFM-88)and Infant-Junior Middle School Students' Social Life Abilities Scale(S-M scale)of children with GDD,to evaluate the clinical effects of Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage and compare with the effect of the single routine rehabilitation therapy.Through analyzing the effects of Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage on the neurobehavioral development of children with GDD before and after the treatment,so as to provide a new security effective method and thinking for Chinese medicine treatment of GDD.Methods:A total of 60 children with GDD were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group,30 children of each group.Because of one shedding case of the control group,the number of cases included in the statistics were 30 in the treatment group and 29 in the control group.Both groups of children accepted routine rehabilitation and the children were treated with Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage in the treatment group plus the above treatment.The total course of two groups were 12 weeks Before and after the treatment,children in both groups were evaluated with the Gesell Development Scale(GDS),Gross Motor Function Measure-88(GMFM-88)and Infant-Junior Middle School Students'Social Life Abilities Scale(S-M scale).SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysisResults:(1)After three courses of treatment,the comparison of Gesell scores of two groups showed that the improvements in gross motor,personal socialization and the total developmental quotient in the Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage treatment group were group were superior to those in the control group(P<0.05);In adaptability and language parts,the improvement of two groups were similar,no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);The scores of fine movements showed no significant improvement in both groups(P>0.05).(2)After three courses of treatment,the comparison of GMFM-88 scale scores of two groups showed that improvement in the Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage treatment group than the control group(P<0.05).(3)After three courses of treatment,the comparison of the S-M scale scores showed that improvement in the Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage treatment group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage therapy plus routine rehabilitation had a definite clinical effect for treating children with GDD.This comprehensive therapy improved their neurobehavioral development,especially in the part of gross motor and personal socialization,accelerate the rehabilitation process of their gross motor developments and enhance their life skills.Strengthening Spleen and Nourishing Kidney Massage therapy is relatively effective and safe and it is worth applying in clinical.
