Clinical Research Of Strengthening Spleen And Nourishing Qi Therapy In The Treatment Of Gastrointestinal Dysfunction In Patients With ARDS

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of strengthening spleen and nourishing Qi therapy in the treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with ARDS and the influence on improving the prognosis, and further explore the mechanism of the therapy in improving gastrointestinal function and respiratory function in patients with ARDS.Methods: 60 cases of acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS) with gastrointestinal dysfunction were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients in the treatment group took Jianpi Yiqi Decoction on the basis of conventional western treatment, while patients in control group were treated with conventional western medicine, with 7 days in a course. Then compared the changes of APACHE II score, TCM syndrome score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score, Murray lung injury score and Blood gas parameters(such as Pa O2, SO2, Fi O2) before and after treatment, and compared the differences of mechanical ventilation time and treatment effect in two groups.Results: The comparisons of APACHE II score, TCM syndrome score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score, Murray lung injury score and Blood gas parameters in treatment group have remarkable statistics significance before and after treatment(P<0.01). The comparisons of APACHE II score, TCM syndrome score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score, Murray lung injury score and Blood gas parameters in control group were statistically significant before and after treatment(P<0.05). There were statistical differences in the comparison of those index between the two groups after treatment (P<0.05). There were statistical differences in the comparison of mechanical ventilation time and treatment effect between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion: Strengthening spleen and nourishing Qi therapy has a good therapeutic effect in the treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with ARDS. It can also improve the respiratory function, reduce mechanical ventilation time, enhance the effectiveness of the treatment, and improve the prognosis.
