Therapeutic Effect Of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction Combined With PVP In The Treatment Of Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fracture

Objective:To treat osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCF)differently with Shentong Zhuyu Decoction,Percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)and Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with PVP,visual analogue scale(VAS),the oswestry disability index(ODI)score and Cobb angle were used to evaluate the efficacy of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction and percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures.Methods:Thirty-two patients with OVCF diagnosed in the orthopedic department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2018 to December 2018 were randomly divided into three groups.According to the different treatment methods,the patients were divided into three groups:A,B,and C.Group A was treated with conservative treatment and oral Shentong Zhuyu Decoction.Group B was treated with PVP.Group C was treated with PVP and Shentong Zhuyu Decoction.Compare and analyze the VAS scores and ODI scores of the three groups before treatment,1 week,1 month,and 3 months after treatment and the clinical efficacy of three groups of patients before and after treatment,1 month after treatment,and 3 months after treatment.The data obtained were statistically processed using statistical software SPSS 22.0.Results:(1)Comparison of basic data:The age,sex,compression vertebral body,pre-treatment VAS score and ODI score were compared in the three groups(P>0.05).There was no statistical difference between the three groups of patients in the basic data and the pre-treatment scores,which were comparable.(2)From the VAS scores,the intra-group comparison:compared with before treatment,the VAS scores of each group A was continuously reduced(P<0.05).It shows that after treatment,the pain of patients with oral pain and phlegm decoction has been gradually improved;The VAS scores on the first day after operation in group B and C were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01),the significance was obvious,indicating that PVP surgery can significantly relieve the pain of patients.Comparison between groups,1 week after treatment,the two groups were compared,the efficacy of both groups B and C were better than that of group A(P<0.05),indicating that PVP surgery compared with oral Chinese medicine treatment can significantly improve patient's pain symptoms within 7 days,but no significant improvement in pain over the next 3 months.On the first day after surgery,there is a statistical difference compared with B and C groups(P<0.05),indicating that the treatment of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with PVP surgery is better than the simple PVP surgery in improving the patient's pain symptoms.(3)From the ODI scores,the comparison between groups:1 week after treatment and 1 month after treatment,the comparison of the three groups showed that the ODI scores of the two groups were lower than the A group(P<0.05).It indicated that the treatment of PVP was better than the oral Chinese medicine group in improving the ODI scores within 1 week and 1 month of treatment;On the first day after operation,the B and C groups were compared(P<0.05),which showed statistical difference,indicating that the treatment of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with PVP surgery is better than the PVP surgery group.In the group comparison,the ODI scores of group A continued to decrease at each follow-up time point(P<0.05),which was statistically significant,indicating that the ODI scores of the conservative treatment group of oral Chinese medicine was gradually improved.(4)From the Cobb angle,the B and C groups were compared before treatment(P>0.05),which was comparable.There was no statistically significant difference between group B and C in the 1 month after treatment and group B and C in the 3 months after treatment.It indicated that PVP surgery compared with PVP and oral Chinese medicine treatment had little difference in improving kyphosis.In the group comparison,Both B and C were better than the pre-treatment before treatment and 3 months after treatment(P<0.05),indicating that PVP surgery has positive significance for the improvement of kyphosis.Conclusions:(1)In the treatment of OVCF,PVP surgery has a positive effect on improving patients' pain symptoms,improving patients' self-care ability and improving kyphosis.In the case of combined oral Shentong Zhuyu Decoction,short-term pain improvement and self-care ability are more obvious,but the significance of improving kyphosis is not obvious.(2)In the treatment of OVCF,oral treatment of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction can effectively alleviate the pain symptoms of patients and improve their self-care ability.In short-term effects,they are inferior to PVP surgery,but after 3 months of treatment and surgery little difference.(3)3 months after the treatment,there were no significant differences in oral Shentong Zhuyu Decoction,PVP surgery and surgery combined with Shentong Zhuyu Decoction in the treatment of pain and improvement of self-care ability.
