objective: Blood biochemistry and blood routine test are the most commonly used tests for health examination, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and prognosis. The incidence and clinical manifestations of many diseases vary with season, age, and sex.The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of season, age and gender on blood biochemistry and blood routine test indexes in healthy adult population,to provide references for doctors. Methods: We randomly selected the health examination database of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital from 2014 to 2017(age: 21-70).In order to eliminate the interference of smoking and drinking, and at the same time to have an objective understanding of the change trend of the blood indicators of the overall healthy population,we conducted two batches of analysis,we analyzed the physical examination data of the non-smoking/non-drinking population and the general population. After the test of normality and the test of homogeneity of variance, the distribution of all the indicators did not conform to the normal distribution.Since variance analysis can not be used for skewed distribution data,we used the nonparametric test for statistics, and the data were expressed as "median" and "quartile".The Kruskal-wallis ANOVA tests were used to compare the differences between the four seasons and different age groups. The Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the differences between the males and females. Results: Most hematological indicators of the overall population and non-drinking/non-smoking population had the same trend with the change of season, age and gender:(1)Results of different seasons: ALT peaked in winter;Glucose,TC,HDL-C,RBC,HCT,HGB and PLT were lower in summer and higher in winter.UA,TG,IBIL,DBIL,TBIL and CRE reached the highest values in summer and the lowest values in winter.ALB was higher in spring and autumn, lower in summer and winter.TP and GLB peaked inautumn.Urea reached its lowest value in autumn and its highest value in winter.(2)Results of different age groups: glucose, urea and MCH increased with age, while ALB,TP,PLT decreased with age,and some indexes show obvious parabola or anti-parabola trend.ALT peaked in men at the age of 36-40 and in women at 51-60.HDL-C decreased with age in women.WBC reached its lowest point for men at the age of 41-45 and at the age of 51-55 for women.LYM decreased with age in males. However,it reached its lowest value in females at the age of 41-45.MONO reached its lowest point for men at the age of 41-45 and for women at the age of 51-55.UA,RBC and HCT decreased with age for men and reached their lowest point for women at the age of 41-45.(3)Results of genders: all the included indicators showed statistically significant differences between genders, excepting that HDL-C,TG,GLB,MCV and PLT were higher in women than in men.Other indicators were higher in men than in women. Conclusion: We analyzed the blood biochemistry and blood routine test indexes of the overall population and the non-smoking and non-drinking population, these indexes fluctuated periodically with seasons, changed regularly with age,and there were significant differences between the genders, these changes are not related to smoking or drinking.Doctors may take the influence of season, age and gender into consideration when judging blood biochemistry and blood routine test results. Our results provide rich information for human health condition monitoring, disease prevention and clinical drug use in Sichuan area.
