Objective:This study through the method of randomized controlled clinical trials,to improve the situation comparison of catgut embedding therapy and electro-acupuncture therapy on refractory peripheral facial paralysis of the qi deficiency and blood stasis type of facial nerve function prior and after treatment in the two groups, and symptom and sign scale changes of catgut embedding therapy, clinical curative effect on refratory peripheral facial paralysis.provide basis for clinical. This study aimed to improve the patients quality of life and provide the effective, workable, easily applied treatment for eripheral facial paralysis in clinic. Methods:This study accords with the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria of refractory peripheral facial paralysis in 66 patients as the research object, and through the random number table method, researth object can be divided into the treatment group and the control group.the treatment group 33 cases,33 cases in the control group.the treatment group were treated with electroacupuncturecombinedwith catgut embedding therapy.electroacupuncture treatment every day,a period of treatment 6 times,in the first, three.five weeks of treatment;catgut embedding treatment in the second, fourth weeks.do this step twice. The control group received electroacupuncture treatment,a period of treatment 6 times.treatment for five weeks in a row.Scores of H-B rating scale and symptom and sign scale as well as improvements on clinical symptoms prior treatment and after treatment were collected for efficacy assessment. Results:In all of the patients between two groups comparison of after treatment clinical efficacy showed, overall response rate in catgut embedding group was 93.94%and 87.87%in electro-acupuncture group, indicating significant difference between efficacy of two groups(p<0.05).It indicated that overall efficacy of the treatment group was superior to the control group.Facial nerve function evaluation between the groups after treatment by the rank and inspection improved significantly(p<0.05).Symptoms integral evaluation by T-test test improved significantly(p<0.05).It indicated that treatment group was superior to the control group. Conclusion:The efficacy of electroacupuncture combinde with catgut embedding group was better than of that of electroacupuncture,in the treatment of refractory peripheral facial paralysis of the qi deficeency and blood stasis tyepe, catgut embedding therapy of electroacupuncture therapy, has a significant effect, and can save more time and social cost advantages.
