Clinical Observation On The Du Moxibustion Combined With Panlong Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Active Ankylosing Spondylitis

Objective: The article is based on the observation and analysis of the improvement of active ankylosing spondylitis(AS)patients in their main symptoms,main physical signs and inflammation indicators by adopting Du moxibustion combined with Panlong acupuncture in one group and Du moxibustion alone in the other.The article,therefore,aims to analyze the clinical efficacy of Du moxibustion combined with Panlong acupuncture and figure out a more convenient and more effective Chinese external treatment for active AS patients.Methods: The study selected 60 cases of active AS patients who were randomly divided into the observation group(using Du moxibustion combined with Panlong acupuncture)and the control group(using Du moxibustion only),with 30 cases in each group.Indicators,such as the patients' main symptoms,main physical signs,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and C-reactive protein(CRP),were observed,compared and analyzed before and after a course of treatment in order to figure out the two methods' respective clinical curative effect on active AS patients and to guide the subsequent clinical practice.Results: There were significant differences in patients' main symptoms and physical signs,ESR and CRP before and after a course of treatment(P<0.01)for both groups.The total points for two groups in lumbosacral spinal pain,lumbar spinal motion limitation,finger to ground distance,occipital wall distance(P<0.05),as well as physical signs after the treatment also differed greatly from those before the treatment(P<0.01).So did the total points for two groups in treating spinal pain and other symptoms(P<0.01).The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.6% whereas the total effective rate of the control group was 93.1%.There was no significant difference between the two methods' curative effect(P>0.05).Conclusion: Both Du moxibustion and Du moxibustion combined with Panlong acupuncture can help treat AS patients' main symptoms,improve their main physical signs,ESR as well as CRP,and effectively relieve AS in the active period.Although there was no difference in the total efficacy between the two groups ' treating methods,the moxibustion combined with Panlong acupuncture could more significantly relieve the patients' pain,improve their activity,better their quality of life and enhance their confidence.
