Research On The Propaganda For Prophylaxis And Treatment Of Schistosomiasis In Hubei Province(1949-1976)

In the early days of the founding of China,schistosomiasis was raging in Hubei Province,causing great harm.In Hubei Province,the propaganda for prophylaxis and treatment of the disease remained vacant for a long time,and there were serious ideological obstacles to prevention and control among the masses,which were manifested in such situations.Firstl,It was superstition,ignorance and fluky psychology.Secondly,people were afraid of affecting production and spending.Thirdly,people were lack of scientific knowledge of prevention and control this disease.Fourthly,people had pessimistic thoughts.From 1950 to 1976,the propaganda work of schistosomiasis in Hubei Province was not interrupted.In different historical periods or different places,they carried out different propaganda work of schistosomiasis.Under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the Hubei Provincial Party Committee,Hubei Province established the propaganda network in provincial,municipal,county,township and village at all levels from 1950 to 1976.According to the characteristics of the work in different periods of time,Hubei Province had organized and deployed the propaganda work for the prevention of schistosomiasis,the contents ofthe propaganda work mainly include the life history of schistosomiasis,the harm of schistosomiasis,the scientific knowledge how to prevent and control it,the policies and measures of the Party and the government for the prevention of schistosomiasis,propagandizing the relationship of schistosomiasis with agricultural production,advertising achievements in the schistosomiasis and so on.From 1950 to the end of the "Cultural Revolution" in 1976,the propaganda work of Hubei Province has various forms.Generally speaking,it can be divided into three kinds: oral propaganda,literal propaganda and literary propaganda.Oral propaganda in various parts of Hubei,These include holding seminars,debates,settling accounts,grievance meetings and chanting slogans.In other places,word publicity includes newspapers,publications,exhibition pictures,slides and pamphlets.Literary and artistic propaganda is a form of propaganda that the masses like to see.It includes radio,movies and ballads.Through effective propaganda work on prevention and control,Hubei successfully mobilized party committees at all levels and cadres in epidemic areas to lead the masses in carrying out the prevention and control campaign with a positive attitude,and successfully mobilized the broad masses to actively participate in the work of prophylaxis and treatment.Great achievements have been made in the work of schistosomiasis in Hubei Province.Hubei Province has accumulated a wealth of experience in the propaganda work of the prevention of schistosomiasis.For example,leading groups and propaganda organizations at all levels should establish and improve in first;secondly,it form a competent propaganda team for the prevention of blood.Thirdly,there should be a variety of propaganda methods.Fourthly,Propaganda content closely combined with the needs of the work of prevention of schistosomiasis.The propaganda work in Hubei Province has also left behind profound lessons.For instance,during the "Great Leap forward" period,in order to promote the "Great Leap forward in the Prevention of schistosomiasis," various parts of Hubei mistakenly propagated the two-days or three-days treatment,production during the day,treatment at night,four-hour therapy,and so on.It is harmful to propaganda work.In some areas,propaganda work is not in place,personal protection work has not been done well,and acute infection is very serious.Third,during the period of national economic adjustment,political emphasis has been placed on the propaganda of schistosomiasis.The propaganda is mixed with class struggle.
