Objective To compare the difference between the levels of circulating bone marrow stem cells in patients with and without gastric cancer, and the difference between levels before and after radical resection in the patients with gastric cancer. Methods From Mar.to Jun.2015,the blood samples of 12 patients with gastric cancer were collected preoperatively and 7 days postoperatively, and the samples of 12 patients without gastric cancer were collected preoperatively as control.Using flow cytometry technology, the percentages of circulating bone marrow stem cells to peripheral blood mononuclear cells were detected. The levels of preoperative specimen between experimental and control group were compared, and so did between pre-and postoperative specimen in experimental patients. Results The circulating bone marrow stem cell levels in gastric cancer group were significantly higher than those in control group(t=2.201,P=0.039<0.05);after radical resection, the bone marrow stem cell level decreased significantly(t=2.880,P=0.015<0.05).Conclusion The circulation bone marrow stem cell level can increase in gastric cancer patients;and after operation, the level can decrease significantly.Circulating bone marrow stem cells may be a promising indicator in the diagnosis and evaluation of therapeutic efficiency in gastric carcinoma.
