Application Of Graphic Method Based On Visual Management Theory In 24 Hours Urine Specimen For Elderly Patients

Objectives:Based on visual management theory,a pictorial instruction book designed to guide elderly patients in correctly collected 24 hour urine samples,And explore the effect of graphic method on the correct rate of 24 hours urine specimen and the time needed for education in elderly patients.Methods:The elderly patients who needed 24-hour urine samples for the first time were divided into control group and observation group according to the order of admission.In July 2017,52 patients were included in the control group,and 52 patients in September 2017 were included in the observation group.The control group was taught to take 24-hour urine specimens by oral explanation and text prompt board,the observation group,on the basis of the control group,designed a graphic guide book in the form of the step diagram in the visual theory,explained according to the guide book,and suspended the book in each ward for repeated viewing.The correct rate of 24h urine specimen in two groups was compared,and the time needed for education was compared.Results:Based on the theory of visual management,a guide book for 24-hour urine samples was designed in the form of step diagram,which was used for the education of elderly patients.Comparing the correct rate of 24-hour urine samples taken by the two groups,the observation group was 90.4%,the control group was 65.4%,the X2 value was 10.449,P<0.01,the difference was statistically significant.The average educational time of the two groups was 2.74(±0.74)minutes in the observation group,3.67(±0.83)minutes in the control group,and the T value was 6.006(p<0.01).In the observation group,the correct rate of 24-hour urine specimens was significantly higher than that in the control group,and the time needed for urine education was significantly less than that in the control group.Conclusion:Based on visual management theory,a 24-hour urine specimen drawing guide book is designed.The guide book is concise and clear.The emphasis and operation sequence of taking 24h urine specimen were expressed in the form of step diagram.It is used to guide elderly patients to take 24h urine specimen.Using the illustrated instruction book in the process of education can improve the understanding of the elderly in content,thereby improving the accuracy of the 24-hour urine samples and clinical examination.The use of the graphic guide book is also conducive to the explanation of nurses,improving the efficiency of patients' acceptance of knowledge,therefore,it can reduce the negative emotions caused by the wrong specimen,make the patients get timely diagnosis and treatment,shorten the length of hospitalization,improve the efficiency and quality of medical services,so this method has the value of clinical promotion.
