Research On The Commercial Specification Grades And Quality Of CASSIAE SEMEN

Objective:As a commonly used Chinese medicine,Cassiae Semen was first recorded in the Shen Nong’s Herbal Classic.The evaluation of quality of c assia seed in ancient documents is little,the Ming Dynasty has documented the best quality of Cassiae Semen in Guangzhou,Guilin,and Xi’an.And si nce then there are also cultivated throughout the country.This article will c onduct amical analysis of Cassiae Semen from different medicinal herbs mar kets and origins.Exploring the correlation between commercial specification s and its chemical components of cassia semen and provide a scientific basi s for quality control of Cassiae Semen.Method:First of all,this paper ranked Cassiae Semen according to its weig ht,surface color and surface gloss.Taking anthraquinones(aurantio-obtusin,e modin,rhubarb,physcion),rubrofusarin gentiobioside,casside,linoleic,pal mitic,oleic and stearic as an index,this paper conducted a test of chemical composition content for the 111 samples with the use of HPLC.At the sa me time,it detected water content,total ash,Aflatoxin and to establish a H PLC fingerprint of Cassia obtusifolia and Cassia tora.Results:Analyzed experimental results by using variance analysis and correla tion analysis.Analysis of variance showed: there is no obvious correlation between weight,surface color,surface gloss and its chemical composition of Cassiae Semen,while a certain regularity exists between specification and chemical composition that with Cassia obtusifolia content of various ingredi ents is higher than Cassia tora.The HPLC fingerprint can be used to distin guish Cassia obtusifolia and Cassia tora.Conclusion:Through the study of the correlation between grades and chemic al components,it provides a theoretical basis for the classification of cassia commodity grades.
