Analysis Of The Safety And Efficacy Of Traditional Chinese Medicine In The Treatment Of Colorectal Cancer

Objective(1)To evaluate of the safety of traditional Chinese medicine in the maintenance of colorectal cancer by analyzing the changes of blood routine,liver and kidney function,coagulation function,electrolyte,adverse reactions and events before and after treatment.(2)To evaluate the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in maintaining the treatment of colorectal cancer by analyzing the changes of symptom scores,KPS and tumor indexes before and after treatment,and 2 cases of typical cases.(3)Through this study,the author provides some clinical data support for the maintenance of colorectal cancer by using Fuzheng Gu Ben method.MethodsA retrospective analysis method is used in this study.The clinical data of 64 patients with colorectal cancer who were treated with Fuzheng Guben Chinese medicine for 5 years from August 2007 to August 2017 were collected from outpatient department of Oncology Department of Guangzhou traditional Chinese medicine hospital.The changes of safety index(blood routine,liver and kidney function,coagulation function,electrolyte)of 6 time points(the first visit,one,two,three,four,five years after treatment)in the course of treatment and adverse reactions/events during the 5 years were observed by the method of self control before and after,to analyze the Fuzheng Guben method to maintain treatment of colorectal cancer is safe;The changes of tumor index,symptom score and KPS score before and after treatment were observed to analyze the curative effect of Fuzheng GuBen method in the treatment of colorectal cancer and its effect on symptom improvement and behavioral ability improvement at 6 time points(the first visit,one,two,three,four,five years after treatment)in the study period.SPSS22 statistical software was used for statistical analysis.The test level was a=0.05,and P<0.05 was statistically different.Results(1)Change of safety index:The mean value of blood routine,liver and kidney function,coagulation function and electrolyte index in first,second,third,four and five years after treatment was stable in the normal range,and there were no significant difference between before and after treatment(P>0.05),but only one years after PLT,UA,CR treatment and three years after ALT treatment was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no severe adverse reactions and events during the five years of the study.(2)Changes of therapeutic indexes:The CA724、CA125、CA153 of the tumor index showed a downward trend.Although AFP did not decrease year by year,the value of AFP fluctuated within the normal range.The scores of each symptom decreased year by year,and the difference was statistically significant compared with that before treatment(P<0.05).The total effective rates of 1,2,3,4,and 5 years after treatment were 45.3%,70.3%,95.3%,98.4%,98.4%.The KPS score was higher than that before treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the effective rate was 96.9%.Conclusion(1)There were 64 cases of colorectal cancer treated with Chinese medicine for 5 years without liver and kidney function injury,no side effects such as bone marrow suppression,no other serious adverse reactions/events.It shows that it is safe to maintain the treatment of colorectal cancer with Fuzheng Guben method.(2)Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of colorectal cancer can reduce the tumor index,improve the clinical symptoms and improve the behavioral capacity of patients.It shows that Fuzheng Guben method is effective in the treatment of colorectal cancer.
