| Objective: This study aimed to observe the clinical efficacy of Qi Shi Sheng Jiang Gui Yuan pill in the treatment of slow transit constipation with deficiency of Qi and Yin,and the mechanism was preliminarily discussed.Methods: Sixty pattients with slow transit constipation due to deficiency of Qi and Yin who met inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups(n=30),namely,the observation group and the control group.The observation group was treated with Qi Shi Sheng Jiang Gui Yuan pill,while the control group received moxapride citrate dispersible tablets.Two groups both were treated for two weeks.Befoe and after treatment,both of two groups,constipation symptoms were assessed by constipation symptom assessment scale,the colonic transit function was assessed by 72 marker excretion rate of colonic transit test,and Patient-Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life was used to assessed physiology,psychology,worried degree and satisfying degree.Adverse reactions were observed during treatment.Results: 1.Comparison of constipation symptom scores: the score of total constipation symptoms,fecal traits,defecation frequency,defecation time,abdominal distension and laborious defecation were all significantly decreased after treatment compared with bfore treatement in the two groups(P<0.05).The score of total constipation symptoms,defecation frequency and laborious defecation in the observation group were significantly decreased than those in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The score of fecal traits,defecation time and abdominal distension in the observation group were decreased than those in the control group after treatment,but there were not statistically significant(P>0.05).2.Comparion of total effective rate: The total effective rate was 93.33% in the observation group,and 76.67% in the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparion of the 72 marker excretion rate in the colonic transit test: the 72 marker excretion rate of colonic transit test was significantly increased after treatment compared with bfore treatement in the two groups(P<0.05).The 72 marker excretion rate of colonic transit test in the observation group was significantly increased than that in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).4.Comparison of Patient-Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life: the scores of physiology,psychology,worrird degree,satisfying degree and total contents were significantly decreased after treatmnent compared with before treatment in two groups(P<0.05).The all scores in the observation group were significantly decreased than those in the control group after treatment(P<0.05).5.Adverse reactions were less in two groups.Conclusion: Qi Shi Sheng Jiang Gui Yuan pill can effectively improve patients’ constipation symptoms,shorten colonic transit time and enchance quality of life.This indicates that Qi Shi Sheng Jiang Gui Yuan pill has significant effect to treat slow transit constipation with deficiency of Qi and Yin by regulating the qi activity of Zang-Fu. |
