Investigation On Physiological Characteristics In“offspring Of Lop Nor People”

Objective: To investigate the physiological characteristics and the spectrum of cardiovascular deseases in “offspring of LopNor people”,a special population from the Lop Nor dried up in Xinjiang.Methods: A total of 578 subjects were selected by convenie nce sampling method from Yuli County,Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.All data were obtained from each person by the questionnaire and standard physical examinatio ns.Results: 20.5% of Lop Nor people had Borderline High TC?6.2% had High TC;37.4% of people had low HDL-C;The Population with Borderline High?High and Very High LDLC was 9.4%?10.1%?2.3%,respectively.In additon,14.6% had Borderline High TG?16.5% had High TG?1.4% had very High TG.Compare to Woman,Man has higherTG?HDLC?TC/HDL-C?TG/HDL-C?LDL/HDL-C(P<0.05).The prevalence of hypertension for “offspring of Lop Nor people” was 50.8% for males and 47.7% for females respectively.The prevalence of high body mass index(BMI?30 kg/m2)was higher in females than that in males,with 26.4% vs.22.2%,with no difference by gender(P<0.05).The results of Logistic analysis revealed that the abnormal rate of TG increased with the increase of BP Level in man.BMI was the risk factors for Dyslipidemia in “offspring of Lop Nor people”.OR values for abnormaol TC?TG?HDL-C?LDL-C was 1.067(1.015,1.121)?1.070(1.027,1.114)?1.049(1.102,1.087)?1.075(1.007,1.147)respectively.Conclusion: The preliminary results show that the main physiological characteristics are high blood lipid,high prevalence of hypertension and obesity in “offspring of Lop Nor people”.BMI might be the main risk factors for Dyslipidemia in this population.
