Analysis On The Characteristic Of Ancient Clinical Applications Of External Treatments Of Facial Paralysis

Objective: Through the collections of ancient literature on Traditional Chinese Medicine for facial paralysis,the traits of using acupoints and herbs are summarized.Methods: In the "Chinese Medical Classics"(Fifth Edition)as the main source of retrieval,collected related data,to put into a database for statistical analysis.Results:Facial paralysis of external therapies include acupuncture and moxibustion,herbs external therapies which include acupoint application,the characteristics of vomiting,ointment rubbing the most.Into the provisions of 144 ancient books and 1062 articles,which include 664 in acupuncture and moxibustion and 351 in main herbs external therapy.There are 83 points for acupuncture and moxibustion,which are distributed on head and face.Ancient doctors used only one acupoint,moxibustion combining with acupuncture and using opposing nedling and reducing manipulation the most.There are 55 specific points,which are the main points of rendezvous acupoints,five Shu points and original points.Acupoints in Fourteen meridians are using mainly on stomach meridian,Gallbladder meridian,large intestine meridian.The top three acupoints are the Dicang(ST4),Jiache(ST6)and Shuigou(GV26).Main herbs external treatment applied 144 flavor herbs,20 categories,which are drugs for dispelling internal cold,calm the liver endogenous wind,resolving phlegm,relieving cough,dispelling dampness,asthmaclearing heat herbs and herbs for relieving exterior disorder the most.They are sweet,pungent and warm herbs.They belong to liver,lung spleen and stomach most.The top ten are castor bean,monkshood,Chinese honey locust,Finless eel blood,musk,melon pedicel,radix sileris,black false hellebore,silverfish,spider.Conclusion:The clinical medication traits of facial paralysis using acupoints and herbs have been comprehensively arranged,which will provide reference value for clinical treatment of modern Chinese Medicine.
