ObjectivesTo study the epidemiological characteristics of preschool children's behavior problems in Huangshan,analyze the influencing factors of preschool children's behavior problems,and provide basic information for parents,teachers and society to reduce preschool children's behavior problems.Methods A sample of 2395 preschool children was assessed by their parents or the primary caregiver with a self-administered queationnaire,including the general demographic characteristics,preschool children's parenting environment,individual preschool children's situation,and behavioral problems of preschool children.Results The prevalence rates of emotional problems were 10.4%,anxiety problems were 12.7%,social withdrawal was 8.8%,somatic symptom was 7.1%,aggressiveness was 6.2%,Attention problems were 7.1%,hyperactivity problems were 10.7%,internalized behavior problems were 17.7%,externalized behavior problems were 15.3% and total behavior problems were 22.0%?The childern who were Age over 6 years old is a risk factor for anxiety problems,social withdrawal,somatization symptoms,internalized behavior problems,and externalized behavior problemswith odds ratios(ORs)from 1.5 to 2.1(P<0.05).Self-reported child activity is a risk factor for social withdrawal,somatization symptoms,attention problems,and internalized behavior problems with odds ratios(ORs)from 1.5 to 2.4(P<0.05).The risk factors for aggressive problems,attention problems,hyperactivity problems,externalized sexual behaviors,and total behavioral problems with odds ratios(ORs)from 1.4 to 2.8,(P < 0.05).However,the self-evaluation of children's activities is a protective factor for social withdrawal and internalized behavior problems,with odds ratios(ORs)below from 0.4 to 0.6(P <0.05).ConclusionsThe prevalence of preschool children's behavior problems is high in Huangshan.The behavioral problems of preschool children are affected by many factors.The adverse factors should be controlled in time to reduce the behavior problems of preschool children.ObjectiveTo examine the prevalence of peer bullying victimization among preschool children in Huangshan,and to explore the relationship between behaviour problems and peer bullying victimization.MethodsA sample of 2395 preschool children was assessed by their parents or the primary caregiver with a self-administered queationnaire,including the preschool children's demographics,peer bullying victimization and behaviour problems.ResultsThe prevalence rates of verbal peer bullying victimization,relationship peer bullying victimization and physical peer bullying victimization in recent 2 months were 7.7%,14.9% and 28.3%,respectively.Approximately 36.9% of preschool children reported that who engaged in at least one type of peer victimization.As the age growth,the prevalence of verbal peer bullying victimization and relationship peer bullying victimization were increased(P<0.001),however,the prevalence of physical peer bullying victimization was decreased(P=0.001).According to the seven subscale of the behaviour problems internalizing/externalizing problems and total scores of behaviour problems in this study,the prevalence of each three peer bullying victimization among preschool children with behaviour problems was more higher than those who without behaviour problems(P<0.05).Results also indicated three relationships between behaviour problems and peer bullying victimization.First,preschool children's anxiety,somatization symptoms,aggressive behaviour,attention,and hyperactivity were associated with verbal victimization with odds ratios(ORs)from 1.6 to 2.0;second,the relationships between aggressive behaviour and attention and relationship victimization had been found in this study with ORs above 2.3;third,somatization symptoms and aggressive behaviour were related to physical victimization with ORs from 1.3 to 1.7.ConclusionsIt is common that the peer bullying victimization among preschool children in China.These fingings suggest a strong relationship between behaviour problems and be bullied in preschool childern.
