Iron deficiency Anemia is the one of diseases affecting children's growth up. The primary reason of IDA is shorter iron intake and the disorder of iron absorptive and utilization. So it is good for IDA prevention to give a diet formula that can enhance iron absorptive and utilizatioa This studying is to analyze the drink and eat behavior, the diet status, to discover mat what kind of dietary can supply enough and good iron, and what is the essential nutrient of iron absorptive and utilization, and to give the theoretic proof for IDA prevention by sampling the preschool children in Zhuhai city. Objectives: 1. To give a diet formula that can enhance iron absorptive and utilization.2. To study IDA status of the preschool children in Zhuhai city and it's main generous factors. Methods: To apply stratified sampling. According to the administration area and economical status, the city was divided into three groups including nine districts, the 1,2,3 nursery schools respectively in every district were inspected the IDA prevalence rate, and the anemia children diagnosed were studied by matched, the studying content was general status, drink and eat behavior and diet survey. Results: 1. there were 1933 children in this survey, and IDA prevalence rate was 18.73%. IDA prevalence rate of the boys was 17.22% and the girls' was 20.32%, it showed a significant difference. The IDA prevalence rates in these three areas were different obviously, the prevalence rate of the first area was lowest (6.79%), but lower than that the second area was (12.43%), and the prevalence rate of the third area was highest (34.94%).2. The dietary iron intake in every district was enough, and was 218% of RDA. But heme iron was low, and it was only 6.02 % accounting for all iron intake, nonheme iron was the main composition of the iron intake in this city.3. If the percentage of Sugar, Cu, VrtB2 from animal foods were high, IDA prevalence rates were low. Moreover, the percentage of VitE from animal food accounting for all intake VitE was negative correlated with the IDA prevalence rate.4. The ratios of (animal foods+ vegetables + fruits) / (com + bean) and (vegetables + fruits) / (com + bean) in the anemia children and non-anemia children showed a significant difference. (z=2.17, p=0.03 and z=2.04, p=0.04). P2.5~P97.5 of the ratio in the anemia children were 0.43-7.99 and 0.07~6.03 respectively, and were lower than that in the non anemia children. QU-QL of the ratios in the anemia children were 1.34 and 0.96 respectively, QU-QL of the ratios in the non anemia children were 1.21 and 0.95 respectively, the ratios in the anemia children were higher than that in the non anemia children.5. The higher the parents were, the little fish their children had; the bigger the children were, the more innards and shrimp they had. The children in Domen County eat more huts and fruits than other two areas. The IDA prevalence rates were correlated with drink and eat behavior. Conclusions: 1. The IDA prevalence rate of this city was 18.73%. The IDA prevalence rates of preschool children in the urban, the suburban, and Domen County were different significantly. The prevalence rates were obviously corresponding with the economic status of the areas.2. The preschool children should have a dietary with the ratios of (animal foods + vegetables + fruits) / (com + bean) and (vegetables + fruits) / (com + bean) are 1.57 and 1.00.3. The low intake of heme was the main cause of IDA in this city. The more the intake of VitA, VitB2, VitC and VitE, Cu, sugar from animal foods was, the lower the prevalence rate of EDA was. The scarcity of the knowledge of the parents' child care was the society affecting factors of suffering EDA, and the higher cultural degrees parents were not exceptionable. It is necessary to strengthen health education all the countryman.
