Analysis Of Urodynamic Studies In Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Patients Suffered With Diabetes Mellitus

Objective:To observe urinary dynamic findings on benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)patients suffered with diabetic mellitus(DM),and analysis the characteristics of diabetic cystopathy,in order to provide accurate diagnosis and efficent therapy.Methods:A total of 80 BPH patients were enrolled.These patients were divided into 2groups:Group BPH+DM consisted 40 BPH patients suffered with DM while Group BPH consisted of 40 BPH patients.The effects of International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),Quality of Life(QoL),prostate specific antigen(PSA),urine NGF,and dynamic findings were assessed.Compared analysis was performed to determine the differences among the two groups..Results:1、The patients in BPH+DM Group had higher levels of BMI(26.08±2.89 vs24.16±2.24,P<0.05)、PV(PV:50.98±18.26 vs 40.68±16.76,P<0.05)、PSA(3.44±2.14 vs 1.98±1.36,P<0.05)than those in Group BPH.2、The values of PV(49.04±22.17 vs 41.18±18.14,P<0.05)and PSA PSA(3.13±2.38 vs 2.11±1.88,P<0.05)in the BPH patients with increased FBG were higher than the normal cases.There were no statistic differences of PV、PSA、IPSS between DM history 3 5 years group and DM<5 years group.。3、In contrast to the patients in the BPH group,BPH patients who suffered with DM had higher FDV、MCC and PVR(P<0.05).The proportion of patients combined with weak bladder sensation,high compliance bladder,and impaired detrusor in BPH+DM patients were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The ratio of lower urinary tract obstruction was also outstandingly lower than that of the control group.(P<0.05).4.The NGF/Cr in the diabetic group was(0.74±0.37),which was obviously lower than that in the simple BPH group(1.68±0.98).Conclusion:Urodynamic studies can provide objective and accurate analysis of diseaseprogression of BPH patients combined with DM,and the applicaition of Urodynamic examination could help to forecast the efficacy of surgery.
